God Bless you Frank. Your videos are a blessing. I really appreciate you taking the time to put out this content on the CPA. As of this writing, I am studying for FAR. Your journey has given me the confidence to believe I can pass this exam. Moreover, I now have a more realistic understanding on how I want to accomplish this goal. Thank you.

You're very welcome. You definitely can pass -- the exams are a marathon meant not just to test accounting skills, but also one's ability to balance work and life. So many people put pressure on themselves to pass quickly, but it doesn't have to be that way. Since the 18 months window starts after your first pass, you basically have 6 months to pass each exam. So why cram any of them into a single month? 2-3 is optimal for memory, but other factors make 3-4 months just as good. I know I'd rather take 4 months to do one exam right than end up having to pay for 1, 2, 3, or more retakes.

Thank you for sharing your journey. Your videos were quite helpful as I’m preparing to start my journey and was looking for tips on studying while having a full-time job as an Accountant.

Every spare moment is an opportunity. Also, don't lose hope if you can't do 3 hour marathons. Ultimately, if you invest the time and think things through, there is no wrong study plan.

Passing the CPA exams is when you study hard, if you can’t study or you don’t have time for your studies I’d advise you get yourself a help like Mrs Brenda

Hi can you make a video on all the topics or chapters for FAR and online free resources to study . Similarly for rest subjects. Thanks
@FrankProvo6 жыл бұрын
That's a tall request and would basically entail making my own CPA study program. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of time. I will say, the AICPA website has exam blueprints that list all of the topics, and if you want to use what I consider a #1 resource, view Professor Farhat's videos on KZbin. As a student and now a CPA, I can tell you they are a go-to resource.

Thank you. I'm curious how the tests will change once the new IT and focus area initiatives are enacted. On the one hand, I'm tempted to retake. On the other, that would be insane.

Hi Frank, great video. I have a question for you. How many study units did you do on Gleim per week? I know you mentioned that you would do Sims.on alternating days and that you spent around.6 to 8 hrs on them.per week.and then you did the multiple.choice, but how did you learn the material? What date of the week did you find that going over the reading, lecture or any other outside resource was more useful to you?
@FrankProvo4 жыл бұрын
I'd do 1 to 2 units a week typically... but really, I just kept cycling the quizzes and sims until I felt confident I could ace the unit test. I'd begin each unit by studying the provided notes, then start the quizzes.

And Saturdays were always best for me, because I didn't have to work.
@rplayer774 жыл бұрын
@@FrankProvo Thanks for your response. On that Saturday, would you just read 1 study unit? One of the plans that I am thinking to do don't know if this is a good idea is to read 2 study units on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday while applying your strategy of just Multiple Choice and Simulations during the week in addition to Saturday mornings with my typical Fridays off.
@FrankProvo4 жыл бұрын
@@rplayer77 If your schedule allows it, then I see nothing wrong with your plan. You will figure out what works for you real fast. If you put in the time and resist distractions, you'll be in the best position to pass with good scores.
@rplayer774 жыл бұрын
Alright, I will do my best. Also if you don't mind letting me know what did the 4 hours entail on the very first day that you began your journey? You said that you treated yourself, what else did you do to get going? I really like your advise of the Sims. I am so confused with this because I have heard of people who don't even bother with doing them and I think that they are important. About how many Simulations on average did you get done within the 2 hours? The good thing about Gleim is that it's adaptive and it tells you more or less when you are ready for the next subunit. Another thing that I am a fan of are Professor Farhat's lectures. Over the summer, I put all the videos into audios. My goal is to listen to them during the week even if I am going to be heavy on the Multiple Choice and Sims.
