McDavid still had the fastest overall time but lost cause the NHL was more interested in becoming a circus act then rather a skilled competition. It's equivalent to having the fastest lap but it didn't count cause it was only the "first round" instead of just getting 2 attempts at the fastest lap. Can't get any more stupid then what the NHL is doing

I think the main reason McDavid didn't win that one is that he paused slightly before shooting the last puck, causing Kadri to shoot them all down first.

very much depending on the format, but even if you look at the shooting percentage and average time separately (up to each round), and rank them and look at the gaps between players, it's compelling.

I love the skills comp and all-star game weekend n the NHL. Everyone is just having fun, letting loose. and its almost like they dont give a f***. Back in my day, I hated the skills comp. There was way too much hitting, is was way too fast, and the guys took it way too serious. It was almost like they cared too much

I think a good way for this event to be tweaked is add a time penalty for missed pucks. That way even if a shooter is way faster than others, if they miss they won't end up winning. Because personally, going 4 for 4, twice, is a lot more impressive than hitting all 4 targets faster with misses.

So the point of the competition was not who can take out the targets the fastest. It's who can take them out the fastest each round. So then the player who dies it the fastest overall can still lose. Makes sense.

Here's how this should really be: Rd 1.. fastest 4 to win the target advances Rd 2.. Average of rd 1 + rd 2 time together.. shortest time advances to rd 3 Rd 3... Same thing Add 15 seconds penalty to their overall time if one is caught cheating (not shooting from the line) Add 5 seconds to their overall time per shot miss That would be AMAZING!
