Great tricks! No ruler needed. I recently discover your channel and I must tell you first of all that I truly admire your work. Beautiful! And your videos are a treasure full of knowledge and experience. I have for the most part unsuccessfully drawn and painted some buldings in the past,so I basically gave up. But after seeing how you do it I feel like giving it a try again. Most importantly I feel like I can actually do it. Thank you 🙏

I often draw larger sketches larger than the original reference and this was very helpful. I notice the trick of using a slip of paper to check scale and proportions accurately, and my tip is to use a pair of dividers to do the same job: i.e. check distances & widths …. BUT….. I try not to depend on them too much otherwise it can make me too dependent on them. Like you, an occasional check is all what’s needed. One more thing …… I find it crucial to check that the drawing will actually FIT onto to paper first, and into the correct position on the paper. I’ve learnt this by previous errors ! lol.

Your video is just what i was looking. Would had been great if had found little earlier as I have already did the sketch and was looking for crosshatching trick which lead me here. Loved the efforts.
