Hi which battery is responsible for the backlight. I have changed the battery for the digital display. I have reset by shorting out ac to battery positive, and digital side works fine until I press the backlight, and I lose display for approx 2 seconds. Any help regarding this issue would be much appreciated, because I'm finding many people have had the same problem, but can't find a solution, and yet it seems a very common problem, regards Andy

Hi Andy, the battery for the digital display runs the backlight. To be honest im not sure why you lose the display. Only reason I can think of is the battery is not powerful enough (faulty or old stock, even though it's new) or the connection is dirty.

I'm sorry but I can't remember the battery sizes but these watches use two batteries. One for the digital display and one for the analogue movement.
