used to do this with m1 ball, surplus. We would throw the military bullet away and add a Sierra 168 gr. They shot way better. I have forgotten the charge but basically did the same as you did, dumped all the powder, averaged out the charge subtracted about a grain. Because of the heavier bullet.

I havent uploaded in 5 years because 2 of those i spent away from home and didn't have access to my tools, 2 more was spent in a depressive slump and lack of motivation compounded by work taking up most of my time and energy and around this time last year I moved and havent gotten around to rebuilding my recording setup as my only craft bench now houses all my reloading equipment...

There were a lot of issue with this test that I have learn about in the past year that I intend to cover in part 2 if i ever get time to film that, main issue is finding some domestic .310-.311 factory ammo that isnt 50$ a box of 20 and has "Winchester" printed on the box. the factory bullets from these steel cased ones are crimped so hard that the bullet is deformed, I also damaged the jacket when reseating them so that part of the test will need to be redone as I found out that even a small amount of metal shaved off will throw groups by 2 MOA...

@@Returacan ya u need a .311 neck expanding primer rod. And deburr the edge. Sounds crazy but it’s apparently normal for a factory crimp due to deform projectiles seems the crimp helps accuracy. I like to turn the case as I do it so it doesn’t pinch material as u crimp I think the neck lasts longer that way

Some Ppl that reload these a lot say to alway heavily factory crimp them. U could have neck size with the regular.311 decap pin just stop short of the bottom. Also I think your rest is too bouncy. I know pro shooters have a specific density they like the sand bag so I think u need some spacers and a few sand bags
