Truer words have never been said about the disassembly video tip. I just received mine back from IWI, as i tried disassembly myself. Ended up crushing the gas cylinder and locked up the charging handle…

To shoot the Tavor X95 I discovered that the shooter has to have some modicum of humility and appreciation for the weapon. I didn't go to the gun range expecting anything about the weapons feel and performance because as a new owner I wanted to understand how to use the weapon as designed in it's stock form as intended. I allowed the weapon to feel and function by its design and didn't try to force it to meet AR-15 testing requirements. Since I, like some many others, was acclimated to a longer and more stable platform I did not perform well my first couple of range sessions. After I realized the weapon preferred heavier 62+ grain ammunition and support being as forward as possible I also mastered the pistol-like trigger feel in order to obtain consistency and accuracy. Once these things were done I was hitting 1.5-2.5 moa at 50 yards on a bench rest with the stock trigger, trigger pack, and 55 grain ammo. The rifle was not modified including the polymer insert or the cocking bar mount. I allowed the rifle to function the way it wanted to instead of bullying it into an AR-15 and pretending it should behave like one and I achieved better than standard accuracy than most sub-$2,000 ARs using range ammunition (white box) on my Tavor. When I finally used the heavier 62 grain green tip and imi sierra matchking 77 grain I achieved 1-1.5 moa with 62gr and consistent 1 moa with 77gr all with the rifle bone stock.

I just got one and was pleased with the accuracy. Dialling in the irons at 25 yards resting on the side of my pickup i got a 2 inch 5 shot group with IMI 55 grain M193. The weapon is plenty accurate for my intended purpose. A minute of man rifle for 0 to 300.

@nabu I intend to do just this. The modifications are also pretty expensive, and after dropping 2k on the rifle I’m going to enjoy the stock variety for a while. I’m not sure the trigger pack is worth $400+. If you train with the trigger as is you should be fine. I also have a P227 so I actually like a two stage trigger feel, maybe I’m sick.

I got a good AR, and I love my KELTEC RDB and RFB but they just don’t have the reliability that I want for the apocalypse. I’m thinking I’m going to have to spend the extra money on the x95 to get myself a true combat proven and rugged bullpup. I like bullpups more the way they feel. Definitely going to be doing everything in this video once I have mine.

You can adjust the lightning bow trigger to a single stage feel with no take-up and almost no creep(with the stock trigger pack) as opposed to the 2 stage feel.
@shino9797

How do you do that?
@fadetoblack2888
@fadetoblack2888 Жыл бұрын
@@shino9797similar to most aftermarket triggers like those made for Glocks, there's a hex head adjustment screw on the trigger itself that you just need to adjust until the take up is gone. You'd probably have to uninstall it, re-adjust the screw, and try it again until you get it right. A bit of back and forth until it's perfect. Just don't over adjust as then the trigger just won't reset at all.

It's such a crime that people are not more into the Tavor series of rifles enough to make an aftermarket for accessories and upgrades available. I would absolutely love to see X95 forend replacement upgrades like different materials and designs that are lighter, more rigid, less contact on the barrel, more or less rail access, etc.

Try to find some of the IWI-IL 77gr 5.56 ammo. 1"x1/2" group at 100m with a 16" SAR-21. Of all the aftermarket trigger packs, the Geissele Super Sabra is probably the best value since it is adjustable. I prefer the Shooting Sight Tav-LE but it took some spring swaps to make it work better with the Geissele Lightning Trigger Bow. Bully puppies take different techniques to shoot for score.

The stock trigger is far better than the Steyr AUG stock trigger. That is why I chose the X95 over the AUG.

I love and appreciate this review… my personal feeling with this setup tho, is that it’s accurate enough 😆 it’s a huge challenge to get this to group tighter vs other platforms, and seems easier to just use a dif platform to keep things tight. But for what I have my x95 setup for, it’s more than enough for me. It gets it done but I may consider tweaking her more

Very well done and informative video on the X95. I might have missed this in the video, but by employing the two tactics of swapping charging handles and upgrading thew trigger, what type of MOA were you obtaining at 100 YDS? You did a nice job of presenting your information in the video. Thank you.

Great video, I'm installing the lightning bow soon, mainly because I prefer metal triggers. The trigger pack is out of stock, but I have a feeling the bow will be good enough for now.

Hopefully you adjusted the lightning bow before reassembling. A lot of people just throw the trigger face in there without adjusting it to take up the slack.

He seems to have missed a few tricks. First the combination of a riser rail and curved butt pad makes the rifle more ergonomic. A rifle that is more ergonomic is easier to aim & hold on target which makes it easier and more accurate to shoot.. No awkward cranking of the neck. Especially important for larger men. Second, muzzle flip. In the bullpup most of the weight is in the rear. This means the barrel is going to want to kick up more than with other platforms. For accuracy you need a compensator style muzzle device to keep that barrel down. Third, without weight to stabilize the front I recommend using a bipod when possible. Forth, grip tape. This won't make much more difference than removing the polymer locking collar but maintaining a firm grip on the weapon in all situations affects how accurately you will shoot. Fifth, muzzle velocity. Faster bullets drop less. X95 models with longer barrels will shoot better period. Optimal length of barrel for a 77g round is about 20". There are 4" barrel extensions you can add to the gun. For those with 16" stock barrels this will put you right at the sweet spot of about 20" give or take the size of your chosen muzzle device. For those with longer 18" stock barrels you are still better off with the added length if accuracy is your goal. This video was poorly made sound wise. I had to turn up the sound on my computer to max then turn in back down to go back to normal youtube.

The most informative X95 video on youtube. Great job. Can you just remove the indexing collar from a current gen charging handle to free float? Or do you have to track down an old gen? If so, what gen are you looking for? And where would you find one? Thanks.

I have the X95, and T-7. They are both pretty great weapons just like they come out of the box, and considering the price they should be. All I have done to both of them is a WML, sling, and a Mepro21 on the X, and a 3x quartz red dot on the T. I'm ok with 3moa; it's mil spec, and somebody paid alot of money to design these and put them into service so I roll with that. The X is my go to weapon for all things defensive. Been thinking of converting it over to 9mm; any thoughts on that? Great video; you have a good presence and command of the material you discussed.

one question on the whole free-float thing?I keep hearing that once a barrel heats up that free floated barrel gets a bit willy/wonky?That only at 1st the free float is more accurate by a smig.I feel if someone has a hog gun or a two legged tactical gun and plan to be shooting it more then the normal hunter,home defender,target shooter,then they will have to worry about heating up their barrels.So i plan to get a 3rd 5.56AR and bed the barrel and see if this is true?Because a bedded barrel needs the extra contact point to help with stability after heating.No??
@Gunday_Brunch
@Gunday_Brunch 4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what information source you are getting that from sir, but it isn't true. A free floated barrel will not lose accuracy after a few shots because of the free float, it would only do so if it is of poor quality or poorly and improperly assembled. A poor quality barrel with poor quality steel and treatment will start to string early but a high quality barrel will open up in a very predictable manner as it heats up. All guns do this, "bedding" a barrel will not alleviate thermodynamics. Secondly, there is no way to bed an AR15 barrel. Not like an M1 or M14. The barrel nut provides all the tension for the barrel into the receiver and free floating the barrel takes advantage of that by using the barrel nut and receiver to also index and support the handguard. This removes all the external stress and flex points that you could push on the barrel with by way of the handguard in a traditional M16/M4 type set up. It won't matter nearly as much that you are loading a lot of pressure onto a bi-pod or the handguard if the barrel is not in contact with the handguard to be flexed. You could, in theory, use a compound on the barrel extension to help tighten the fitment a little further but I do not recommend this. Using a quality barrel in a quality receiver to proper torque and assemble specs will produce results. As for why bullpup rifles and by extension most rifles that aren't AR-15's are more expensive, material and R&D cost. Most of the exotic rifles that we have available on the US Market are built up heavy engineered items meant for military or other high endurance use, the LWRC or H&K ARs are not the same price as a Stag or Smith and Wesson and the same holds true for rifles like the X95, they aren't in the same material category. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to spend a lot of money or waiting for a deal or a sale but the saying 'you get what you pay for' holds very true in the firearm industry. The $699 AR-15 rifle is not an H&K 416 or an X95. It isn't even an M16A4 or M4A1, it used cheaper materials and fewer controls for quality to save money. That doesn't mean the rifle doesn't work, it just means it isn't the same. Everyone likes to throw out the 'lowest bidder' card on military equipment, including rifles, but what they fail to mention is that it is the 'lowest bidder that meets the standards' and those standards are highly exacting. Reading the TDP contract for a company that wants to make M4's for the military is a lengthy and highly detailed read, everything is spelled out down to specific materials and QC procedures that must be used. The commercial AR-15's that would meet or exceed that standard are not the cheap ones, they cost every bit what the X95 or other peer rifles would cost. Thanks for watching Michael!

Iv wanted a bullpup style AR for a while now but they all just seem to be so expensive?I could buy two decent ARs for the money they want for one or a good high end long range bolt gun already tactically set up.Im more of a buy cheap(inexpensive) not cheaply made.I always wait at times for long periods of time for sales.The Stag Arms rifle i have that now sells for about 1300.00 bucks i bought for 699.99 on a great sale.It was also a new model at the time.Same for my .224Valkrie and my lever gun.Both purchased for less then 750.00 and now i could sell for over 1200.00 bucks.My problem is i am so addicted to shooting i aint selling.My wife will have to figure out what to do with them when im gone!?!LOL IF i can make it to the range ill be shooting until i croak!!! LOLin a wheelchair ill table shoot,or go prone. hehe if a walker i may set up on a standing platform?I just purchased my 1st level gun in a larger caliber in .45/70 and i have to say its.....a cannon! LOL which is what i wanted.Bear defense as well as LARGE hog hunting.Oh and we cant forget the range fun ,shooting exploding target and 2ltr bottles of soda and the good old can of shaving cream! lol With ammo shortages its been a bit expensive to buy ammo for it so i choose reman. ammo by a good company and the ammo is clean and brand new looking as well as reliable and accurate for a lever gun and my 55yr old eyes! lol only problem is it was hard to find one that had a good capacity?I had to settle for a 4+1 but wanted one with 8 or 9rd capacity?Now they are finally back ,some of them but i have mine.hehe Next is a 6.5Grendel AR15?I was thinking more of a mid range but would love suggestions on a brand/model that can sit on a Mil-Spec lower that will have a trigger job lolthanks great video
