Because they knew that there was a firearm, which had already been used to kill, in the accused's possession. British police can be pretty 'badass', when called upon to arrest criminals with guns. Having said that, I didn't see any 'violence'. Nobody was knelt on, jumped on, or dragged around while being cuffed - as seems to be the norm in other countries.

I find it a bit disrespectful how all the comments are filled with tbs cause people should really say something about that cinematic masterpiece, I mean Olivia Colman Performance was heartbreaking and that was a beautiful acting in my opinion (I loved her in HEARTSTOPPER btw). I gotta admit the reason why I ended up watching this is because I was going through other things in which Thomas played but people should be commenting on the other actors performance because I'm telling you this serie/short film has moved me in so many ways, I really loved how there's not quite a hero and a villain in the story only mistakes, makes me think about life really. I loved tbs character here, Jake wants to go and speak what he did cause he understands what he did is wrong and he's feeling guilt. I really loved that character. And Shaun mother is so well played by Olivia, breathtaking and heartbreaking performance ❤ I will be rewatching ❤
