It is in my top 3 of best ACDC songs. The trouble is I can't decide on the other 2, too many to choose from! But Shoot to Thrill would probably be in it, and maybe another one from Powerage like Sin City. Actually Downpayment Blues is number one, because it's musically unique - no other song in rock n roll has a simple riff like this, of just two cords but in 4 different tone heights, that keep you guessing throughout where it's going. Add to that amazing lyrics and you've got this timeless classic.
@jameshungrydego11 жыл бұрын
I'm 50 years old and have listened to Mozart, Sinatra, Pavarotti, Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath and so on. But by far the most immaculate, flawless and perfect example of pure a Marshall stack driving guitar punch with Bon's ball busting heart felt lyrics leading the way in one ROCK album is surely POWERAGE BY FAR and BAR NONE, Amen.

Malcolm’s right hand. It’s just glorious. It’s my favourite part of the band sound. All through this era (at least up until Brian) of the band Malcom would usually open up the riff and add to it, usually beginning with the second verse or the outro, while Angus stays locked on the basic main riff. It just adds so much depth and grove. He was - and is - the rhythm guitarists rhythm guitarist and the only guitarist I’d ever want to be. Genius. Had to edit this for some clarity.

Who ever says Brian can't sing just don't know what they are taking about. Brian has a great bluesy voice. He can reach notes other rock singers can only dream about. Unfortunately AC/DC long tours and long live sets and years of smoking rolled up ciggies have taken their toll. He's still one of the best around I'd go to watch him sing nursey rimes. Great singer!

Nothing against Brian, he has done a great job in AC/DC. That said, the Brian that Bon could listen singing with Geordie was a very different animal from the Brian in AC/DC. In Geordie he was mostly using a clean voice, very bluesy, while with AC/DC he started screaming and using a raspy voice.

@Mylosh359 жыл бұрын
lacusicusi Why do you even bother to compare the two of them? I mean, where you got the energy? Who is current AC/DC singer? Brian? Right? So? Bon was great, unique, one and only. And.... Bon is gone, like a long time ago. But, if you did not know this, Brian never intended to fill Bon's shoes. He said it. And the rest of the guys intentionally hired a singer with different voice than Bon. I'm paying my respect to Brian, 'cos he earned it a long time ago. And, he's paying his respect to Bon, by singing his songs. He started in 1980. So, he's a frontman for the last 35 years. A huge thing. At least, for my standards. Try to be grateful for Brian's performances of Bon's songs. Through Brian, Bon lives forever. They're like blood brothers. Appreciate that. Cheers mate. Long live AC/DC.
