It is in my top 3 of best ACDC songs. The trouble is I can't decide on the other 2, too many to choose from! But Shoot to Thrill would probably be in it, and maybe another one from Powerage like Sin City. Actually Downpayment Blues is number one, because it's musically unique - no other song in rock n roll has a simple riff like this, of just two cords but in 4 different tone heights, that keep you guessing throughout where it's going. Add to that amazing lyrics and you've got this timeless classic.

I'm 50 years old and have listened to Mozart, Sinatra, Pavarotti, Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath and so on. But by far the most immaculate, flawless and perfect example of pure a Marshall stack driving guitar punch with Bon's ball busting heart felt lyrics leading the way in one ROCK album is surely POWERAGE BY FAR and BAR NONE, Amen.

Malcolm’s right hand. It’s just glorious. It’s my favourite part of the band sound. All through this era (at least up until Brian) of the band Malcom would usually open up the riff and add to it, usually beginning with the second verse or the outro, while Angus stays locked on the basic main riff. It just adds so much depth and grove. He was - and is - the rhythm guitarists rhythm guitarist and the only guitarist I’d ever want to be. Genius. Had to edit this for some clarity.

Who ever says Brian can't sing just don't know what they are taking about. Brian has a great bluesy voice. He can reach notes other rock singers can only dream about. Unfortunately AC/DC long tours and long live sets and years of smoking rolled up ciggies have taken their toll. He's still one of the best around I'd go to watch him sing nursey rimes. Great singer!

Bon respected Brian, that's why they invited him to sing after Bon died. I think Bon would love the way Brian sings his songs. Bon said Brian knows how to rock, and he has been doing it for 35 years. I think it's time we give Brian a break and just enjoy the great music.

Nothing against Brian, he has done a great job in AC/DC. That said, the Brian that Bon could listen singing with Geordie was a very different animal from the Brian in AC/DC. In Geordie he was mostly using a clean voice, very bluesy, while with AC/DC he started screaming and using a raspy voice.

AC/DC makes me smile every time I hear it no matter how down or angry I might be. My wife always drops in Let There Be Rock when she thinks I need cheering up and a couple songs in I am grinning and my head is bobbing. I am 51 now and have been listening to them since my first 8-track Powerage in the late 70's. I have seen them about 20 times, but alas, we shall see them no more. Thank you for being an uncompromising force for Rock & Roll and teaching me about the horrid Jack!

Brian is a great singer, but he just can't sing Bon's songs as good as Bon himself did. Now, being that said, I ask myself: could Bon sing "You shock me all night", or "Hard as a rock" (for example), as Brian does? I really doubt it. Conclusion: each one is unique.

lacusicusi Why do you even bother to compare the two of them? I mean, where you got the energy? Who is current AC/DC singer? Brian? Right? So? Bon was great, unique, one and only. And.... Bon is gone, like a long time ago. But, if you did not know this, Brian never intended to fill Bon's shoes. He said it. And the rest of the guys intentionally hired a singer with different voice than Bon. I'm paying my respect to Brian, 'cos he earned it a long time ago. And, he's paying his respect to Bon, by singing his songs. He started in 1980. So, he's a frontman for the last 35 years. A huge thing. At least, for my standards. Try to be grateful for Brian's performances of Bon's songs. Through Brian, Bon lives forever. They're like blood brothers. Appreciate that. Cheers mate. Long live AC/DC.

I really don't get why they never play these great tunes of the Powerage album? Imo Powerage is their best album.

Bon and Brian are 2 different people... It’s not as if Bon just quit, or the the band broke up... If they had quit after Bons death, then we wouldn’t have the rest of the AC DC legacy... It’s no disrespect to Bon when Brian sings one of his songs... People need to just shut it already about that...

" Livin on a shoestring . A fifty cent millionaire". Ah Bon , how we bloody miss you . And Mal, you will never ever be forgotten, the greatest riff and rhythm that ever was.

The odds of one band having successive frontmen with their calibre of talent and mass appeal were astronomical. AC DC pulled it off.

Yeah, Brian Johnson kept ACDC going and his critics should be grateful for that.

I usually listen to the pre-Johnson stuff myself!!! The only reason they sold more albums with Johnson is they weren't that popular before Bon died!!! Like every Superstar!!!
