I have had the honor to meet kurt in 1989 around christmas. We were in Detroit, backstage at a venue and we got so bloody drunk on gentleman jack cause it had just come out at the time. Hey, make sure to find the recording (video) from a concert in like 92? At Castaic Lake, CA. It's off of the second Outcesticide cd (blue moon records) cd name is the needle & the damage done. Another cover that will blow ur mind is off the same cd is labeled "The Man Who Sold the World" (electric version). I was born in Aberdeen and grew up in Montesano and was listening to their unreleased tracks and some "bootleg" concert recording's in the early 90's. There is some definite next-level shit that they never released and most people didn't even know about. The Outcesticide series 1-4 were $40 each back then, but worth every cent!! They are probably still available and will show you the true and full musical genius of Kurt. R.I.P.

Pretty sure it's not rusty dry throat, but just vocal fry. Surprisingly easy once you figure it out. He really isn't trying that hard to get that sound at this point, and it's nothing to do with his throat and how damaged it may or may not be.

This is breaking my heart. My good friend loved Nirvana and Kurt so much that he moved from Florida to Seattle when he was homeless just so he could visit Kurts bench. A few months after he got to Seattle, he was murdered. I miss my friend so much. He loved this song. He was a guitar (or like he would say a "gee-tar") player. I think it made him happy though to be in Kurts city.

@Gruesume Wolf Gaming Hey google Nirvana Castaic Lake. You will find a recording of Kurt (solo) Where Did You Sleep Last Night and at the beginning of song he says "this is a song written by (what sounds like) Hubby Leadbettter he was a slave from the south". The recording can also be found on the 2nd Outcesticide cd named "The Needle and the Damage Done" I've always been good at figuring out his lyrics, but I could be wrong!!
@patrickdineen98475 жыл бұрын
@@gruesomewolfgaming4735 yeah your right about the name being Leadbelly. Before he starts the last song solo (off Unplugged) you can clearly hear him say Leadbelly. The reason I thought it was Ledbetter was from the recording at a concert in Castaic Lake, CA that can be found on the Outcesticide cd #2 "The Needle & The Damage Done" Or just google Nirvana Castaic Lake concert "Where did you sleep last night". Fun historical fact about this song (not necessarily this specific version, but just the song in general): did you know that "In the Pines" is actually a traditional American folk song dating back to at least the 1870s? It originated in the Appalachian region, though as with most folk songs, the song's original author is unknown.

I wouldnt say think that way. Because he was never intending to be a role model for teens more or less a representation of teen angst. Not a thing to "try" to strive for.

This song will always remind me of the boy I loved in high school. It was Decemeber 2016. Our class just had a Christmas party and we were tidying up the room when the boy I had been in love with for more than 5 years at that that point played this song on KZbin. I never told him I loved him. Although, I think he knew because I told some of my classmates and they must have told him. I am at a uni now and I have moved on but I still dream of him sometimes. I hate how cliché this sounds. It sucks because I loved him so much. To this day I wonder if he ever felt the same. Probably not.
