It’s an inaccuracy. It’s actually Maya who said “it’s the waves, it’s shadows filled with the sound of the ocean”. It’s the only line from Lindsay Seidel (Maya’s voice actress in the anime). Maya saying “is it now?” and laughing actually belonged to Alexis Tipton (Pearl’s voice actress)
