Ace Combat 3: electrosphere - Mission 00 (エースコンバット3エレクトロスフィア ミッションゼロ) was a promotional VHS tape released on June 5, 1999 to promote the then-recent release of Ace Combat 3: electrosphere in Japan. This Japan-exclusive video allows players to peek into the world of 2040's Strangereal, a world dominated by two major corporations seeking to seize power over the entirety of the Usean Federation.
This copy of the VHS was retrieved in 2021 by Infrid, of the fantranslation group Load Word Team, professionally transferred into digital format and then fully subtitled into English and Spanish by the LonelyChaser Fansubs and Traducciones del Tío Víctor groups respectively for your viewing pleasure, following the namings and terminology of the Load Word Team fan translation patches.

I'm always awestruck what passionate and dedicated people can do. And there's a personal connection with AC3 because when I played the international version as a kid around 2001, I was obsessed with the music, the futuristic themes of it and everything way before I was introduced to anime, scifi, cyberpunk, electronic music or many video games for that matter, it was very formative of my tastes and likes today and so I've always remembered AC3 very fondly. And you can believe it was a big deal to me when I found out many, many, many years later international version was just a skeleton of REAL AC3 and I got to experience the full thing for the first time.

I had an older english patched Japan AC3 iso, but now I've decided to play this instead, based on the videos I've seen this translation seems to be the most complete.

At 2:10 you literally hear the narrator say "flight shooting game" and that somehow gets translated to "combat fight simulator"? Even in their most recent interviews they use the words "Flight shooter" to describe Ace Combat.

There are no technical differences between the two terms, but we can make linguistic choices. We used "combat flight simulator" because it is the most correct term to indicate the genera. Bear in mind we're translating and localising a content from another country, if a Japanese speaker feels natural "flight shooting game" doesn't mean this applies to other cultures.

@@loadwordteam Ace Combat is nothing like a simulator, that's like saying Star Fox, Project Wingman, or Aero Fighters Assault are "simulators" and not arcade games. Also, since you are translating to English, it 100% applies. If it didn't, then why did they feel the need to speak it in English? Why not say it in Japanese?
