Bandog never seems to really have a change of heart toward the pilots he's directing during the dialogue, but then all of a sudden he appears to be of one mind with his charges. I view Bandog as an opportunistic asshole who murdered a valued comrade of the Spare Squadron just as he was about to drop some tasty truth on all of us. For that alone, Bandog should have perished. As an aside, I'm kind of sad that Trigger went back to being a part of his old squadron after his exoneration. I feel like it would have been a more powerful statement if Trigger had willingly kept the "Spare" designation.

I come back to this from time to time, and I've gotta say all these years later this is still the best metal cover/redux of a video game OST on KZbin. Lots of metal covers lose the width or buildup just by virtue of being a single instrument on top of other tracks, but the way you've mixed and mastered it from the ground up here playing multiple tracks retains just how grand this song is. Sounds like an official version that would play in a phase 2 of a fight where phase 1 would be the original track.
