Fun fact: both this mission here in the game and Top Gun Maverick are inspired by a real life mission during WWII where the RAF had to do a bombing run through a valley in W. Germany, using Mosquito bombers, in order to hit a dam. The mission was a success & also inspired the attack on the Death Star in the original Star Wars movie.

Love this mission. As a ground pounder in my military days it feels good to hear the troops on the ground getting shit done even in a flying game. To often the ground forces are useless without you. It is nice they didn't have to ask you to shoot a missile through a window. Also find this mission humorous because no one heard these jets screaming though the canyon. It truly is Strangereal.

@@joaogomes9405 considering the set up defenses, the cost of putting half a dozen people alongside these lights would cost almost nothing. It simply doesn't make sense. It's good for playing with an airplane in a war simulation though.

The canyon run part of the mission kicked my ass. Right after you hit waypoint 3 and pass the searchlights the left, right, left, right section got me over and over and over. If I went too high I'd hit a rain cloud and my canopy iced up and I couldn't see. If I went low the rocks would all blend together and I'd hit the wall.

The thing that confuses me can't the guys operating the search lights hear the jet engines pass them i know it is a game but i can hear when jet fighters pass over me when the are at least over 500 meters above me

it's not a completely realistic style game. So you're given some liberty on the story design and enemies would respond.

They don't hear or feel the jet blasting past them at mach 2 but they spot the stealth craft on their radar as soon as it goes past 501 meters in altitude. Because why logic
