Your experience with this ACE kit is consistent with my experience with other ACE models. The company often has rare models, but the kit quality is very labor intensive and aftermarket parts are very welcome. Given the source material, you still got a lot out of the kit. Presumably, the Diana has seldom looked as good as it did after you edited it. So it was a time-consuming task, but it was worth it. Greetings, Joachim

Hi Steve, great video. I've built a few kits like that. It's a real challenge to get them to look nice. There are a lot of unique vehicles that the major model companies just don't do, that are only available in kits like this. Thanks for sharing. Jeff

Hi Jeff. I was surprised this was the only company that made this vehicle in 1/72. Its a great vehicle which would appeal too many if made by a decent company. Many thanks for looking in and commenting

That’s what you call; “Turning a pig’s ear into a silk purse”. Been there, done that. I know how it feels. All things considered I still think you have a rather interesting looking kit there for the GB. Takes a bit of work (understatement of the year) but then you really got something. Cheers, Any.

Hi Any. It was indeed a toughie and I appreciate your comment about it turning out okay. It was an interesting vehicle which was the initial appeal. I may well do the 1/35 version further down the line. Many thanks for your comments

@@SteveJonesScaleModellingSite I only do 1/72 scale just like Joachim. You have a better selection of everything in the larger scale. I’ll be interested to see your larger version of this vehicle.

Hi Steve. Oh dear that looks a nightmare of a kit. Only your skills and patience have got it to a stage ready for paint. It will be very interesting to see how your painting and weathering lifts this to an acceptable level. I won't be buying this kit anytime soon!

Awesome tips on how to do the parts off the tree . I like the kit . So far it looks great . It amazes me that with all the heavy steel , they never covered the front tires with anything . And were those tires solid hard rubber or air filled ? Very cool .
@SteveJonesScaleModellingSite
@SteveJonesScaleModellingSite 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike. They were air filled but the tyres were heavy duty ones. Judging by the spare they must have had punctures in the desert. Thanks for looking in and commenting

Those Eastern European kits are really bad, I've built a few like Roden, Zvezda, MikroMir, Ark, all with the same issues, poor molds and bad fit. But, most are buildable, except the one you just did! I would have canned that one I think, it's amazing that you managed as much as you have. Looking forward to seeing some of that magic! Happy Modeling!!
