+Evandro Locomia This is a release of previously unreleased tracks, demos, and from what I've read, some rare b-sides. I don't recall if they span the entire career of AOB...not even the videos for each track get into that, but I think they cover the pre-"unofficial"-exit of Jenny years. Definitely all great tracks!

+Evandro Locomia Ace of Base were more prolific than most people know--they always wrote and at least demoed, if not recorded, a lot more songs than they ever published in their albums. I'm sure there are many more songs they could publish in another "Hidden Gems" album like this one, or even multiple such albums. It's almost like getting new albums, and would be much appreciated by fans like us, of course. By the way, one interesting bit of history (even though this song was not written by Ace of Base themselves) would be Jenny's demo/recording of "Everytime It Rains" which was shelved in favor of Linn's. Nevertheless, everyone involved was highly impressed by it, and it has never been heard outside of the record companies, even by hardcore fans. It's interesting because, for one thing, the band apparently tried to pass it off as a Linn recording to Arista Records (Clive Davis), who had specifically requested that Linn sing this song even though she didn't want to (they weren't fooled, so ultimately Linn was forced to sing it). I'd love to hear this recording, as well as anything else Ace of Base have tucked away. It probably won't happen, though, as I imagine they'd want to focus on their own songs.

They were doomed as it wasnt a kosher deal The 2 males in the band lead coup so to speak. They pushed Jenny to stop working with them all together. Until they publicly Apologize Jenny wont return either Its to bad they couldnt just all agree on replacing Linn. Jenny freaked out about sharing the spotlight putting the guys in a position at the end of the Reunion where they either have to quit music again or try to reboot AOB They should have gone on that Rockstar show that found INXS their new singer that bands fans love.

This is one of the few albums out there that really lives up to it's name, as these songs really are GEMS! My favorites are, Would You Believe, Prime Time, Giving It Up. Great job Ace of Base and thank you for being true to yourselves. I hope you will soon release a second albums of Hidden Gems, as i'm sure there's still a bunch left on the side.

LOVE it!! i've been an acer since the 90s and some how missed this one. (i still intentionally do not use capital letter "i" because the sign's lyrics were typed out in lower case!) i haven't been as into music in the last few years as i thought i was (or maybe i was just replaying my favorite classics) but i can say i'm really excited that there's several tracks on here i don't know in and out yet and a couple that i do. It's amazing that some of these b-sides and ones i've heard poor versions of, or little bits- are clearly audible in this album. I know everyone is trying to save money these days- but if you love ace of base like I do- please make sure to buy a copy of this from their website directly to show your support to these veteran artists that have helped color our lives with beautiful music!

I'm afraid it will never happen, specially because Lynn's departure. In fact she was no interest anymore to do music after the album "the bridge" came out: cause ( seems to be) to a fan "assault" during a concert in Berlin, who change the destiny of her career. With the monster of the fame, came the monster of depression, so she decide to give up... In fact you can see the change of his behavior in the Album "flowers" ( specially in the video clips) where she was no more the main sinner: practically you see her rarely . She Respect the contract and she work on the beautiful and "terribly underrated" Da Capo Album. Then she depart, definitively. Officially the last album with "the classic" formation is the beautiful and heather underrated album "Hidden Gems". In total five albums. Sad, but provably true, that's why provably we'll never see a "total reunion" of Ace of base

If she wasnt so close to her Sister who's done everything under the Sun to keep AOB going then i think she would have outright quit in a decade earlier. +GreenOlivia I totally agree, although to be fair to the other girls I've heard them sing their own songs a lot better and nicer than they ever sang for Ace of Base. They're still not a patch on the Berggren sisters, but I'm pretty sure that Jonas and Ulf are responsible for having them sing in a way that is suggestive of smuttiness, which is obviously what they were going for based on the video of All For You. They had said that they wanted a new image for the band, and obviously neither Jenny nor Linn were willing to give them what they wanted. I don't blame the other girls for doing what they felt they needed to do in order to break into this business, but I do blame Jonas and Ulf for their bad decisions and especially for how they treated Jenny and Linn.

Me temo que nunca sucederá, especialmente porque la partida de Lynn. De hecho, ya no le interesaba hacer música después del lanzamiento del álbum "the bridge": causa (parece ser) a un fan "asalto" durante un concierto en Berlín, que cambió el destino de su carrera. Con el monstruo de la fama, llegó el monstruo de la depresión, por lo que decidió renunciar ... De hecho, puedes ver el cambio de su comportamiento en el álbum "flores" (especialmente en los videoclips) donde ella ya no serà màs la voz la principal y prácticamente la se ve raramente en los videos y en los ultimos conciertos. Ella respetarà el contrato firmado con la casa discografica, escribiendo y cantando algunos temas del hermoso y "terriblemente subestimado" álbum "Da Capo". Despuès de eso, ella se marcha, definitivamente. Oficialmente, el último álbum con formación "clásica" es este hermoso y tambièn subestimado álbum "Hidden Gems". En total cinco álbumes. Triste, pero probablemente cierto: es por eso que probablemente nunca veremos una "reunión total" de Ace de base

@@danielvargas6414 a eso lo se, pero no fue el ataque a ella todos piensan eso y no fue en el 94 y a su hermana jenny que dicen que nunca superó ese ataque pero más que nada en true story salen dando una explicación jenny dice que nunca pensó que estuviera presionando a linn y linn no quería renunciar si no quería poner a jenny al frente quería probar como lo hacía jenny solo ella se canso en el 95 había dicho ya que no quería seguir en el espectáculo por que vio mucha gente famosa sufrir por eso, también por lo de álbum cruel summer, a linn la obligaron a cantar una canción que odia con su alma que es everytime it rains esa canción la había grabado jenny y al productor no le gustó quería que linn la cantara y la obligó, en sí a linn no le gustó ese álbum porque decía que se perdió el ritmo que llevaba el grupo, además por esa canción les trajo problemas a linn y jenny por eso prefirió dar un paso al costado además se decía que pasaba por una depresión en el 98 causa de la pareja que tenía frederik eso
