It's hard to believe but MTV *actually* played music videos 24/7 back in the 80's. Today MTV - for those of you who even care about it anymore - has regressed to such a low level they're showing generic reality shows, teen pregnancies and stupid crap like Jersey Shore and My Super Sweet 16. While it may often be a cliche some things really *were* better before.

actually Hot Dog was a great skiing movie of the 80's. I actually skied with the main actor of Hot Bodies and Hot Dog at a celebrity skiing event. I also competed in US extreme ski comps at Crested Butte number 2 and 3. Plake and scott were my idols. Scott was a way better skier but Glen had more balls. Neither competed in us extreme, but i did compete against Seth Morrison, Scott Kennet, David Swanwick, Kent Kreitler, and so many other legends, a few have died. Those few years of US extreme comp spit out what would become the league of the best extreme skiers in the world. Now kids use 140 double tip capped skis and just do tricks. We were doing extreme slopes on 200's and launching 60 ft cliffs onto unprepped ice. Yes now guys just throw themselves off 200 footers and land on their head in 15 ft of snow and claim a record. Thats not skill, just stupi and nuts. Seth Morrison in my mind is the best skier in history. He hucked that first double backflip off a hundred foot cliff and landed it on slalom skis. lol. I will say the kids now have more balls as they huck backflips off Corbetts Coulier at Jackson Hole. Still doesn't make them great skiers, but they have balls of steal. We would just launch Corbets straight on back then and that was daring. Plake will always be the biggest legend in skiing for sure.

One tries to hook up with girls he ruined his chances with, one thinks to bet on sporting events he knows the outcome of (and later what startups to invest in), and the third guy completely rips off future music. Let's be honest, we'd all have those thoughts too.

If I went back to 1986, I'd still be a little kid, but some of my earliest and fondest memories were in the later 1980's. Cereals, TV commercials, Saturday morning cartoons followed by WWF wrestling. Although I have to question some of the clothes I was wearing in pictures taken back in the 1980's and early 1990's. But yeah, neon colors were definitely prevalent from what I recall. From sneaker shoelaces, to slap wrist bracelets, to sun glasses. If it seems cooler to younger kids of today, it's because it actually was a cool time to grow up in. I can vouch.

If a time machine were possible such as in this moment. For me, I would like to found myself back in my H.S. days on my junior or senior yr. For what I know in the future & I can tell myself to make some life changing for himself. Like get courage to ask a girl he has a crush on, ask her to the prom & among other things. To make a good future.
