@@esk8nyc Hey. I don't understand Range test '' 2wd with only One ESC Connected'', that is, did you test the range on the 2wd model original? or did you change the 4wd mode to 2wd and additionally turned off the ESC in the remote control? question it makes sense to buy a 4wd to enjoy its power but when I want to change to 2wd removing everything front: motors, pulleys, belt, etc. to the original 2wd weight? Is it too much work and best to choose either 4wd for power or buy a 2wd for longer range?
@esk8nyc Жыл бұрын
@@AdamAdam-ej3vk Well if you want that power and range I’d just go for 4WD. The ESC is a bit of a pain to take out but honestly you don’t have to take it out. Basically what I was saying in the video is that when your 4WD board is off you can turn on only one ESC and connect your board in 2WD mode as if the board was a 2WD. This way of 2WD will definitely give you the most range because changing from 4WD to 2WD on the remote doesn’t actually disable the ESC it actually limits the power by put out less amps to the front esc so you still have good acceleration and braking with the heavy weight of the 4WD board. How ever this will still affect your range, 2WD mode will definitely get your more range but actually turning off one of the ESCs and pairing it in 2WD will definitely give you even more range. It won’t give you as much range was the 2WD version because of the weight however I’d also recommend you take the front belts off so there is less resistance. And if you wanna convert it into 2WD you can simple buy a AceDeck front Truck from their website and simply take out the whole front end with the truck bolts no problem 👍

Hey Dude...nice vid, but I do have to correct you. The Nobleman TQ-1 pads are NOT 100% carbon fiber. I just reviewed them. Even on the Nobleman website they indicate that it is a PVC/Carbon fiber mix. If you look at the end, it is way more PVC than carbon fiber. The carbon fiber is more of a veneer (.25mm or .5mm) than full carbon fiber. As you say, protection is very important on these boards, and making sure the info on the protection is accurate is just as important. Well done on the ACEDECK review. Mine arrives on Wednesday. Can't wait to get my hands on it and review it. Looks like a beast.

Propel definitely has a larger battery however if your going to commute I think the AceDeck is a better option because it’s thinner, faster and the 8inch tires are definitely good enough for street and off-road use even tho it has no suspension

@@gauravbathija6783 the Propel isn’t really that stable either those springs could make the board bounce causing you to speed wobble. Esk8 NYC, I received the X1 and have a very important question for you. In my initial two an only ride tests of this board, did you get deep enought into the battery that you reached the low battery vibration? And if so, were you at about three bars on the remote? And if so, did you board just all of sudden shut down? On my first test ride, the low battery indicator hit the controller. About five blocks later the board did a short hesitation and then all of sudden shut down. It actually locked up the rear left wheel and left a skid mark. I obviously ran off the board. I contacted ACEDECK and they asked if had done the update…of which I hadn’t because I knew nothing of the update that needed to be done. I then did the update the next morning. Charged the board. Took the board out for another test ride, and it did the same thing except this time the low battery hit the controller and two seconds (and I do mean two seconds) later the board just died. In both cases the board would not turn on as the battery was dead. I know if both cases the remote indicated there was at least three bars or about 30% of the battery left. I am curious if you saw this in your testing
@esk8nyc2 жыл бұрын
That’s odd when I did the testing I drained it all the way to the very last bar. At some point it would start to slow down and the board would stop moving but the brakes would still work. I didn’t have any wheel lock up or anything but what update where they talking about?
@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8nyc Hey Dude...thanks for the reply. I received the board on the 15th and had the issue on the 16th. Then on the 16th they asked if I did the update. I told them I knew nothing about an update. They sent me the message and it said, "Do not ride the board until you do the update." I got that message after I got the board and had already ridden it. So, there is an update between the controller and the ESC that has to be done on 2WD and 4WD boards. I did the update, and the issue occurred again after the update. You may want to contact them to see if your board requires the update. They don't explain what the update covers...just that you need to do it. I am glad your board drained to the last bar. This one just abruptly dies with about 25-30% still in the battery...according to the controller. You don't know when it is exactly going to happen, and it will throw you off the board. The first time it locked up the rear left wheel. The second time it did it, I got the low battery vibration and then it just died immediately...had to tow it seven blocks back to the house. Based upon another KZbinr who you and I both know, he had the same issue and they replaced his battery. I firmly believe this is a battery issue. I appreciate your response. Thanks. And thanks for your vids. You do a really good job!!

@@esk8nyc thanks for the quick reply. I think I was unclear when stating the question : Im wondering what is the difference in performance of the 4WD board, if one uses the switch to 2WD via the remote, OR if one also additionally takes off the belts? @esk8nyc2 жыл бұрын
@@velebrzfor 2WD you can easily switch it with the remote. If you keep the belts on both ESCs actually still work, one side will be sending current 100% and the front side will be sending a little current just so the board has better acceleration and hill climb with the weight and extra belts. If you remove the belt and turn off the ESC on the front you will definitely see an increase in range but the acceleration won’t be as fast as the 2WD with both ESCs connected. ESK8 NYC, I don't know how much time you have had to really dig into this board, but I found something else that is very interesting and would like to have your input. As I am reviewing the X1, I see that I can access two sub menus for board settings. I noticed that under number 6 (BATT TYPE) of the second sub menu, the setting is 18650. The X1 is advertised as having a Molicel 21700 P42A 21700 battery. If that is the case, why: 1. Is there no option for the 21700? 2. Why is the setting at 18650 as that is a cell with less capacity? 3. Why is there no option for 21700? A Molicel 21700 is a 4200mAh battery with 42A. The 18650 is a 2600mAh battery with 26A. Does the X1 actually have 21700 cells or are the 18650 cells actually being used? I find it interesting there is no 21700 setting if the battery is a Molicel 21700. Thoughts?
@esk8nyc2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I saw that I think it was just a Typo or something because the battery is 870wh. I think it’s a pointless setting I don’t think it actually does anything but I wouldn’t really play around in the those setting there isn’t really anything that could really change the performance of the board
@esk8ooligan2 жыл бұрын
@@esk8nyc I agree...a rider should be very careful in the eight click menu as some of those settings could dramatically change the performance of the board. When I contacted Acedeck, they said that the tech had just forgot to change it. When I pointed out there was no 21700 option, then I got another excuse that they couldn't disclose this menu option to me...even though it is disclosed in the manual that ships with the board. I am curious...on your board in the eight click menu, what is your motor rotation set to? CW? CCW? When my board arrived, the power port is the tail, and if facing that way, and if the remote direction arrow is pointing forward, the board goes in reverse. If I set the directional arrow in reverse, the board goes forward. I went into the eight click menu and changed the motor rotation to CCW...curious how yours is set up. While I like this board, the more and more I dig into the board, the more and more inconsistencies I am finding. The really concerns me. Thanks Dude for being a sounding board, I hate filling your vids with comments such as this. We really should get a community going in which we can bounce stuff like this off each other.
