Acemic DT-5 Wireless Flute Microphone Review

Really grateful for this excellent clear guide on how to set up and use the Acemic wireless flute mic, so thanks Claire. Although you said the instruction manual was not necessary, I had struggled with how to set up and align the receiver and transmitter, and your step by step guide has now sorted it. As you say it's a great mic. I tried it out at a local jazz jam last night, and people said the flute came through very clear. Normally when playing with louder instruments like saxes I have to stick the highest 2nd and 3rd octaves in order to cut through, but now with this mic I can bring the first octave into play much more. The other thing about a wireless mic is that you can move around more as you play the music (in jazz we stand and play) and not worry about tripping over wires.

Hi Claire it's Roy, I hope your feeling 100% now. I got one of these mics and yep they are great. I use it on with my Native American style flute, along with a Vox Mini5 . The Vox can also be used with 6 AAA batteries, which last for around 6hrs too. It has Reverb and Echo and sounds Fantastic. Anyway hope to see you back in your chaire holding your Yorkshire Tea. 😆 you know I come to think of you as one of them Bust of Beethoven Statues . As we only ever see you from Shoulders up 😅. Hello, I just bought the Violin version of it, and I read that there's the IR (infrareted emission) but it's seems complicated (rotations of the mic etc).

Hi, how are you. I have some questions regarding the microphone. I don't see in the specifications the polar pattern of the microphone, cardioid, hypercardioid, omnidirectional. This detail is important to me, because I play a variety of musical pieces, including progressive rock, and on a stage with high-volume amplification, feedback occurs. Do you have any information about it? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi Sergio. I can't find anything on the polar pattern either. My guess would be cardioid as that would make sense but I couldn't be sure and haven't tested if it picks up any sound behind itself. I hope you found the video useful anyway. Best wishes.

I'm not quite sure what you mean - if you mean could you add effects to a sample using the mic then yes, technically you could if you had the right plugins or pedals. Thanks for watching! 😄🙏

Can I use this microphone in church please? I mean attaching it to my flute and using it at a distant from the mixer.

You can, however you'd need to check the distance but according to the instructions you should be ok up to 40 metres, as long as there are no interferring signals (you can change the transmission frequency to help with this).

These are shipped region dependent, you may have trouble if you travel with it though. I also heard the keys, and immediately thought about adding a piece of black foam before wrapping the microphone to the flute to minimize it further. Didn't seem too bad. As long as you have excellent technique, this should not be a problem. It will be a different story if you have hammers for fingers. LOL!!!
