It is a never a bad thing to check video about how to disassemble, to make sure how to or how not to take it apart :) Thanks for watching! Taking it all apart is a main target of this channel. And it is probably easiest one, because to put it back on video will take more time and effort.

If the speakers cover won't move when you try to pry it off, then somethins is holding it from beneath :)

nice, i have a 5715z which seems pretty much the same thing, dunno why they couldnt make it easier, though, some acers you have to totally strip down to get to the hard drive or even ram!

(Spanish is ok, if you want). Hi, very usefull your video. I nned to repair / resold the right USB port AND the power jack. The seem to be loose or not well solded to their supports. The laptop charges sometimes, if you move the jack, it charges alternatively. After watching very carefully to the video I can see you must dismantle almost all the eq to reach the power jack, and after it, you unswitch is, like there is no soldering of the jack to the MOB. Thanks, from Argentina.

You may try to leave fan and heatsink in place, because it maybe possible to remove only palmrest and than lift up a motherboard a little and change a dc jack... but if it will not work, you may need to take motherboard out.

Hi, I have a an acer aspire also and my screen keeps flickering and has lines across it I can still see the screen a little but i have to adjust it or put pressure on the corner. I think something is loose. Do you have any suggestions? and how could I identify the problem?

You can remove carefully this keyboard without taking anything else out. Or you can remove it by removing power button cover first. There are some screws holding it on the bottom side (if I am not wrong). Good news that there are no screws holding this keyboard :) Have a good luck!

Hi!!! Great video!!!! I had already started to take my laptop apart when I found this.... I think the problem is the dc charger connector.... Power out checks ok on the adapter, but gradually the wiggling of the ac adapter connection would not work to power or charge the laptop.... I have ordered a new connector.... but it took a week to get the part... now I'm having a difficult time remembering ho to put it back together.... so I am waching it again and again to see If I can get it back together.... It would be nice if one could watch the video in reverse (LOL!!!!) or have a reassemble video..... Hope I will get it back together soon.... Thanks again!!!

Hello, I can imagine how difficult it can be to reassemble a laptop without a video in a week or so. I hope you will be able to put your laptop back together!

regazzz Hello! I am replying to you on that laptop.... The only real problem was the black and white wires (Antenna wires?) connected... I was able to find another video that showed the connection on the back of the laptop. I worked for 25 years as an electronic technician many years ago... Take care.

Hi there, very helpful video. I have an issue with the backlight I guess: after a 5 years of working the display starts to appearing in red color after sleep or when it turns on, and then more and more red, and after a day it does not turning on absolutely. The display is working, it can be seen by using a flashlight. So what should it be changed and is there a possibility to fix/replace part at home, or get a deal with service?! Thanks

I have a similar problem I will check the connector first, then if need be a baclkight from another laptop (Sony Vaio). Otherwise use it with an external monitor. 9 years later maybe you still have it :p

if it is turns on for a few seconds, I don't think it is overheating, did you applied a new cooling compound after cleaning?
@jcxz10011 жыл бұрын
Andrew Rhee - There isn't any cmos reset jumper. I was having the same problem, then I ordered a new bios chip preprogrammed with 1.45 version. It made my computer come alive again... almost. But now I think I've fried the GPU (graphics chip), because it won't show anything on-screen. The replacement procedure was pretty involved, as the chip had to be soldered in, so not for everyone!
@regazzz11 жыл бұрын
Lasse Steen Bohnstedt nice work!
@jcxz10011 жыл бұрын
regazzz Yeah, I'm *almost* proud of myself :-P Would be better though if it actually finished the post process.... Why I think it's the GPU: If I leave in the RAM it will hang, black screen; I can't even shut it down, have to pull out the battery. If I take out the RAM it will still hang with nothing on screen, but at least then I can shut it down by holding down the power button. The RAM block works fine in another pc btw. The GPU is shared RAM type (uses part of the same as the rest of the system... only explaining this for if others read along ;-) ).
@regazzz11 жыл бұрын
Lasse Steen Bohnstedt Thanks for explanation. With a new comment system I am a little lost and don't really know what will happen with all that comments people have posted prior G+ integration...

Most likely something wrong with LCD. Try on an external monitor and if there will be lines means something also wrong with gpu. If no lines on external - than bad lcd. Change lcd.

Hi. Does replacing the DC power jack require soldering or does it just clip in? Thanks.
@cyberp0et2 жыл бұрын
There is a connector on the motherboard that connects the DC jack to the motherboard, but you need to completely disassemble the laptop in order to get access to it, since it is hidden. I had to improvize with mine, since it was missing (who used it must have broken it and conneced the adapter wires direcly to that connector. I managed to put one DC jack from a projector, though slightly larger, I crammed it in there(melted the plastic tabs inside to make room for it) and it works. So it is easily detachable and replaceable. Hopefully after 9 years you still have it :p
