ACER ES1 532 disassembly and broken hinge repair

Thanks, it was a bit nerve wracking but I gave it a go and fixed my laptop. Otherwise I would have had to buy a new one so worth a shot. Trickiest bit was the ribbon cables I think. Also lots of the plastic location hinge points were broken too so now really only held together with the screws that pass through the base plate. IMPORTANT NOTE. Now I have fixed it I can see why it broke in the first place. From now on I will only open and close the screen from the centre. The design of the hinge has a major weak point that does not take any twisting, so opening and closing from the corners is what breaks these hinges. Replaced both hinges bought on ebay for £12

Bro, I have the old acer spin 5 and its problem is like the laptop in your video, the hinge seems to be breaking the screen so im not closing my screen to avoid it breaking, what should I do??

Hi, I don't have experience with ACER Spinm 5 but as I see the hinges on that model are more complicated. You need to disassemble the screen assembly first and see what's happening inside. After that will what you are up to. If it cannot be repaired I see that pair new hinges for your laptop are around $40 on eBay.
