On my Acer. When trying to start with battery only it shuts off uprubtly in a few seconds. Charging is ok and laptop ok on AC power. Do you think bq chip? 2nd new battery tried.

Did you ever find a fix for it? Mine does the exact same thing yours did where I had to press a random key on my keyboard constantly for it to stay on

@@rinnx_3677 Could be, but a regular press of the power button doesn't immediately kill the device. But indeed would be interesting to try with a different keyboard.

If you have 2 pieces of ram sticks, switch their places. It worked for me.

Bad power button in the keyboard. Very common problem with Acer and Gateway

ACER is the worst brand.i have 2 dead ACER EXTENSA just after updating the windows 10 now it doesnt want to switch on , then i changed the main board put a new one, it worked a couple of months 2 days ago same problem arose again..
