@@leopu6778 it seems like game crash, or is it possible to continue game after freeze? There may be many possible causes like badly optimized or pirated game, not stable undervolt (even if stock), or defective drive. You have to figure it out

Thanks. I found this useful but I ran into a little issue adding a second SSD on my PH317-53-798L. Basically, the 2nd screw (the one to the righthand side) would not shift. Also the screwdriver I used was almost just turning yet it got good purchase on the left hand screw and they are the same size screws. I tried different screwdrivers and also using pliers to turn the screw but could not get it to shift. However, my board is slightly different to one in the vid and there was a rectangular piece of metal under the screw that was then screwed into the board just below the SSD. I was able to remove 'that' screw then rotate the metal to the right slightly to accommodate the SSD. I screwed everything back in place. Its not perfect as the horseshoe cut out on the end of the SSD is not flush around the righthand screw but I was able to get everything secured and the SSD works fine. Just posting this in case someone has a similar problem.

@@teliyeti7151 if you gonna add one ram stick to your stock ram go for single rank. If you're adding 2 new sticks you are free to choose knowing that difference between single and dual rank is like 0-4% depending on game. Single + dual should work as well, but it's better to have the same specs for peace of mind and to avoid eventual compatibility issues

Yes, actually any kit made for that purpose will be ok. It's nice to have some thin plastic things in it to separate the bottom cover from the deck.

I'm planning to buy a Helios 300 model with 4GB base RAM and has free 8GB RAM. I know that dual channel may not work because they don't have the same size. I want to know if the base RAM is soldered unto the motherboard or it is like the additional slot of the laptop.

The 4GB stick is not soldered on to the motherboard. This laptop has 2 replacable RAM slots. It's strange that you found a configuration with 4GB RAM + 8GB.

Yes it's still worth buying. I have the 1660TI version and I can play cyberpunk at 50-60fps. Idk what you're going to be playing but it's perfect for everything. Also I have the old version the newer RTX models are cheaper and better because everyone is getting the 3000 series.

The HDD upgrade kit for this model can't be replaced, because it's individual. The only thing you can do now is to contact Acer - I remember that they were providing cables and stuff for other models, maybe for this too. Another way is to find it on the internet, maybe someone is selling it.

There are no limits. But if you wanna go more than 2TB HDD the problem is that these 2.5" drives are usually thicker and they probably won't fit so 2TB is max for HDD/SSHD

It depends which configuration you choose and it may be different for each country. However by default it comes with only M.2 SSD and one 2.5" slot free for HDD

It will work, but it won't be 100% compatible. I mean it may run at 2400MHz in order to match latency or other stuff.

Hi, if you have 1x16GB RAM it's good to add another 16GB to have dual channel RAM as in some cases it improves performance a lot. RAM is for multitasking in general and it's also important in graphics program - the more the better. Games usually need 2x8GB. M.2 SSD is much faster than 2.5" SSD, so it's up to you. In the video I didn't install any new M.2 SSD, but I linked some options in the description

Hi, do you know if all 2019 helios 300 versions have upgrade-able RAM? I have a friend who wants to buy the helios 300 with i5-9300h and 1660ti, but it only comes with 8gb RAM in the UK amazon. Also in the product description it's stated that the Maximum Supported RAM is only 8GB, hence making upgrading the RAM impossible. This must be a mistake right? I thought they all have the same motherboard just different components.

I have an urgent question, please. I also have a Helios 300, but model 317-52. And when I open my drive bay to connect the SSD, I already have a SATA connector. BUT the SATA connector has only 16 pins , not 22 pins. ( 7 for data and only 9 for power ). So my question is, is it ok to connect the SSD directly to the 16 pin SATA connector ? Yes you can replace the original M.2 drive and you will need to reinstall windows on the new drive. It will probably remove your software from Acer and other things that came with the system by default. I don't know if there are any limits for storage.

Hey, go to right click desktop > Intel Graphics settings > display and see if you have an option to switch to 60hz. Idk how in this case but usually when you have 144hz pannel you can switch it to 60hz if needed. Fresh install of Windows will probably make turbo button useless, because it's bound to the Predator Sense app. However i don't know if downloading and installing an app will make it work again, because I didn't test it.

You can choose any M.2 SSD that i linked in the description. Your laptop supports both M.2 SATA and M.2 NvMe PCIe. Only one slot doesn't support SATA but the other does, so it's safer to go for NvMe since both slots support it

I have one more question . Suppose i bought the ssd nvme 1 tb may be so i opened the back panel and fix the new ssd in the empty slot for ssd and den i put the back panel back on , then i turn on the laptop . So will it boot or start normally or do i need to do anything else ??

Because now it does boot up from the stock ssd and may be other ssd slot is empty so since the it boot up from present ssd .if i dont touch that ssd to remain as it is . And just put new ssd in another empty slot . So in this will it normally boot up ?

I didn't understand the error when you were installing the firecuda. In the video you install it with one side up and in the picture you put another side up. Sorry to bother you but I bought the exact same model and I want to install it properly. Which side should be up when I install it? Can I dm you?

I showed the correct way in the smaller windows with description. First tip is at 01:40 and the second at 02:36. And at 02:31 I said it is wrong, so if you're at this point, you should flip the drive upside down so the white/green side is on the bottom and the SATA connection is on edge side of the laptop.

You can choose any drive you want and any brand, but I recommend some 2.5" HDD or SSHD as for less money you can have way more storage space.

Samsung Evo will be way faster regardless the situation. SSHD can be fast as SSD, but only in proper conditions when you "learn" it which app you use the most by often using it. Idk exactly how it works, but I treat SSHD as a HDD alternative, not a SSD replacement.

Hey i own this laptop.. 2020 version, been using since one month and it is a great laptop but one day after usage of one hour, a red line appears out of nowhere.. It has been there constantly, it even appears in bios, so definitely a panel fault.. Also the bottom bezel gets hot, not that hot but kinda warm, is it normal?? My laptops in warranty so I'm giving for repair! Just need to know if bottom bezel does get warm or not? And the hinge is also kind of Strong so i need to apply more pressure to open the lid and that might have caused those red lines..!

Yes, this laptop gets hot in the area under the display, especially deck, but it's normal for this model. I dont think that it could damage the display. Just a faulty panel unit

Hey, the dual channel enables when you have 2 RAM sticks physically installed and they are compatible. You know which RAM you can go for by matching the specs with your original RAM if you mix. If you replace 2 RAM sticks you have to know what are your laptop RAM limitations. This Helios supports up to 32GB (2x16) 2666MHz

@@juanpablokieffer Yep, the brand doesn't matter. However for the best compatibility it's good to have the same sticks. For sure speed and voltage should be the same. Quick question Tech Finds, I just got this laptop and I haven't done anything to it yet but was looking to add another ssd to it.I just want it for storage because I'm running out on the stock ssd. Once I add the new ssd, and partition it(I scrolled through the comments to get that answer) what is next? I mainly want the storage for gaming, can I just put my game folders on that drive and play right away? Or is there something else I have to do?

after you partition it you can just drag your games from old to new drive and they should work, but it's not 100% guarantee.

What do you mean by act like c drive? Bootable drive will be the one with system on it, the other one without system can be used all as a storage. This laptop has 2 M.2 slots of which one supports both sata and nvme, and the other one supports nvme only. I don't remember which one is which unfortunately. This crucial is sata m.2 and it should be supported by one of the m.2 slots in this laptop

Yes it matters. If you gonna mix with your original RAM go for something with the same specs CL19 like Crucial that i linked in the description. HyperX is good, but go for it only when you going to buys 2 new RAM sticks of it.
