Thankfully I have a gaming tower/decent intense monitor :) but I also am now going to get this lower priced very trendy product. I have seen a freind use one very helpful for on the go movement and facetime and all. It even plays online games well enough depending on the CPU and RAM requiments. My mate had no major issues playing a couple of online games on it with extendable Hard drives. If you already have a decent pc in advance I see no harm getting a laptop/tablet in one shot for such an amazing price. Certainly way more dependable than an over priced mobile smartphone. Calling is easy to freely work round :)

The HP model you mentioned has a slightly better processor. If you want both touch screen and tablet under 15k, I think this is still the best. But if you can spend higher, I suggest you go for a convertible like lenovo yoga which flips back. My personal experience is that the 10inch tablet is not really of great use, it is more of fancy. If touch/tablet is not necessary, I suggest you look at 11 inch laptops. They come with same specifications but the size makes it more productive.

Yes you can use any usb thing that works with your regular laptop/desktop because this has full windows OS. With Windows 10, I do not think we can avoid updates, it downloads and installs sooner or later when it is connected to the internet. I have no clue about the tally erp requirements, but theoretically anything that works on regular laptop/desktop will work on this. But with the limited storage, ram and low end processor, you can not install heavy apps. If tally is a light weight, it should work.

I think this is the only proper brand in India. There are similar models from Micromax/iBall etc, but not my choice. HP had a similar model but seems like it is not available now. I also have a similar Dell 5055 but it is not available in India.

You mean amazon in right? I think so. Where ever we purchase this in India, I believe the main importer is same. They do not want to design a new charger for India because the sales numbers may not justify. So they just give us an adapter.

I do not know the requirements of these s/w, they will work if the memory requirements are met but I'm pretty sure they will be very slow and productivity can never be achieved. This is best for light use, browser, google docs, ms office etc. Anything else, even if works should be for occasional use only. Just my opinion.

There is hdmi out on this. If your tv has hdmi input you can use a hdmi cable to connect. I think this has micro hdmi port, so you'll have to use micro hdmi to hdmi cable

I don't know how the school use would be. If it is just for uploading files or reading pdfs, its ok. But if it for always on, taking notes etc, then this is not recommended, it is slow and when we open more than one or two programs there is lag.

Yes, there is an option in settings to use sd card for installations. But the problem was that sometimes the apps on sd card wouldn't show up, behaviour is somewhat erratic. I tried this on two windows tablets I have and both were similar. I think the problem is either with windows or the card(I used the same card on both). I did not use this feature after facing the issue and so I do not know if it is resolved lately.

I do not have the drivers.I faced the issue when I did a clean install, but after completing all the windows updates everything worked fine including touch.

Runs MS office. I used it for a few days. But dont expect to run word, excel powerpoint all at once, it may run but you will be disappointed. one or two chrome tabs + word/excel is what you should run at max. Image editing with paint - yes. I didn't try with very huge pics, but one or two 10MP pics at once is ok. Never tried fb games, but shouldn't be a problem. Movies and music is ok, but volume is not high to enjoy them. If you are using headphones or external speakers, it should be ok. Dont know about win8 vs 10, but it runs win 10 very well and 8 may not have any edge over 10 on this. It does all that you asked, but being a low end machine don't expect high performance. As long as you just have one or two apps, it is good. I use chrome mostly and it works well as long as I dont have too many tabs. My opinion is this is a better pc compared to others with similar pics. I have a dell venue 10 pro also and prefer this acer over dell.

external hdd - Yes, provided charger is connected. multiple usb devices - It has only one usb port. If you want to use more than one, you should use a hub. You may need a powered hub depending on the devices you are going to use.

It does work. I installed it and forgot about it. I was uninstalling some apps to free up some space today and found that I have XAMPP installed. I used it only for a day or two when I installed it few months back and it worked fine. While starting some servers, there were some issues, mainly due to skype. So I had to change some ports in the configuration, I do not remember what ports I changed.

While all these work, usability depends on how many apps,tabs you have open and the load on your xampp. I use it only for travel with mostly only chrome browser, so I can not comment much. But if this processor and ram combo works for you, this may be the best one. I suggest you do more research on this combo to see if it works for your kind of use. I have a dell venue pro with same specs but I prefer this acer to dell because of the overall comfort and usability.

While it can handle all regular windows applications, the use really boils down to how well it can handle the apps you need. If you are talking about school projects of kids who may only need the laptop ocassionally, this will do. If you are talking about high school and college students who may need to browse and do a lot of work, they may not be ideal. I feel the screen is too small to be productive. Moreover if you use multiple applications at the same time, this one feels sluggish(any device with these specs).

I think Acer S1002 is the best 2 in 1 given your budget. I hope your usage is going to be lite. If you want to install too many apps and all the memory will not be sufficient. All 2 in 1s in this range more or less have the same specs. It all boils down to looks and build quality. Pick the one you like. Personally I'd suggest Acer S1002. There is a variant on Amazon which has 500gb hdd too(the hdd will be in the keyboard, so only works when attached). I also came across Asus T100HA which has a much better processor. Do not go for those local phone brands selling 2 in 1's. I recently purchased a Dell 5055 because I has stylus support. If you have someone who can get that, check this on Amazon or ebay com. You will have to buy the tablet and keyboard seperately. amzn.to/2aPLI0I If this is going to be your only laptop, I suggest you increase your budget and get a more powerful laptop with atleast 4gb/500gb, otherwise you will soon start looking for an upgrade.

Yes, it does. Please check the description for links. I do not suggest a 500gb version unless absolutely necessary. The 500gb hdd is in the keyboard. If you accidentally remove the tablet or if the connection is disturbed while hdd is being accessed, you will end up with corrupted data. So preferably but one without hdd, or buy a 360 degree laptop like the Lenovo Flex/Yoga.

Yes you can use any external hdd, but the tablet/laptop should be connected to charger. Pen drives can be used without connecting a charger. External HDDs require higher power than a pen drive and the tablet may or may not supply sufficient power to operate them, so there are chances of corrupt data. When you connect charger to the laptop, it can supply sufficient power. When the box is opened, I think it was the first note inside the box.

This is windows, apk files are for Android. So they will not work. If you want, there is something called bluestack. You have to install bluestack and then install apk files on bluestack. I did not try bluestack, pls check online for details.
