Here is Part 1 of our series where we are going to be making some upgrades to my good friends 1964 Ford Fairlane. It currently has an HEI and Edelbrock carb on it. Underneath is a mild 302 with a small Comp cam. The fuel delivery kit comes with almost everything you will need to get high pressure fuel to the new injection system. In our application, the fuel return fitting while impressive, just wasn't going to fit our tank due to limited access. We also chose to use the factory hard line as our fuel return and opted to use the new push lock hose for our feed line.

Nice quality and well explained install👍 I already commented on your short about lowering the fuel pump but adding here that, EFI pumps are designed for pushing, not pulling fuel (and that includes long distances, not just height). With that said (reposting here), I haven't and wouldn't ever do it but I've seen (and tuned) several installs that worked fine (for years) with the pump mounted (less than 12") higher than the fuel level...

Nice….im putting the very same setup on my sons ‘67 mustang….even the ignition setup…these videos are like gold to me right now…..although i have alot of experience with LS swaps into older cars , so this tbi should be a walk in the park!!!….i too am waiting on the distrubtor and coil and currently have a china gm hei unit on the ford

I just got my Jeep back from a shop that installed my Aces EFI kit. Stalled out on me twice driving it back home, and the fuel pump is super loud. I know it has to learn and tune itself, but is the fuel pump supposed to be annoyingly loud, and did you have any trouble after initial installation?

The fuel pump is pretty loud. That’s standard for externally mounted pumps. Rubber isolators and some dynamat can go a long way. As far as tuning you’ll want to play with it to get it setup for you. We had some running issues and after going back and forth with Aces tech support they got our tune sorted out. It took some time and a lot of patience.

Why not just use the drain plug on the gas tank….thats what i did on my ‘67 mustang..put a barbed fitting on it…done

@@timothyramos884 on a hanger coming off of the fuel tank mounting flange….u can go to a hardware store and just get some type of ‘L’ bracket

Hey dude, what are you using to fasten the clamps to the body? Are those self taping screws? I am seriously contemplating buying this kit for my 67 Camaro and your videos are on the verge of selling me on it. Everyone always mentions how there is not enough hose. The idea of using the stock hardline as a return is friggin brilliant! saves on tons of hose. Only thing that disappoints me is that the kit doesn't come with the weldless return bung for the tank.

I am using self-tapping screws and insulated hose clamps. I figure if the self tappers didn't work I could always install rivnuts later.

Did you still use the in tank hose on the rivnut bung for you return line in tank?

We did not use the in-tank hose. Not using the hose means we can get some cavitation due to the fuel dumping in and down, but so far there haven't been any issues.

Thanks for your clarity. I am still a bit baffled with exactly how to hook up the line to the exit side of the fuel pump. I'm installing the complete ACES system on my roller 318/A523 in my '38 Dodge. The fittings on the flow side of the pump confuse me.

If your using the Aces pump mine came with an additional fitting on it. It is a check valve, but is not used in this application. If you pull that off you should be able to connect the exit side. Best of luck with the build.

What kind of linkage setup did you use for the throttle?

The linkage is a combination of the factory brackets and a Lokar adjustable end.

Im having a similar issue with my killshot Where you able to locate the issue? I have to feather the throttle for it to start or it will crank and crank

For us the biggest issue was switching to the stock cam setting. Then we had the O2 sensor failed. So far so good since then.

@@lucasetcheson5455 We have a mild (or so we thought) cam in the car. On the Mild Cam settings in the programmer, it was overfueling bad. Switching it to the "stock" cam settings seemed to work for us.
