Welcome to Form Fight! Here we look at Pokémon with more than one form, we take a look at the differences between those forms and try to decide which Pokémon form really is the best! We also make the Pokémon forms battle it out in a Metronome battle so we can get an idea of how these Pokémon look in action!
In this episode we're looking at the Single Horn Pokémon, Heracross, and it's two forms Heracross and Mega Heracross! Let's see which of these Pokémon is the best of these Pokémon forms!

I would never guess that mega Pokemon would be in form fight but it is very interesting to see a mega even though most of the time the megas are better(except for Garchomp)

It literally makes no sense they decided to take 10 points from Garchomp's speed for its mega like... 100 points are added to base stat total so taking 10 from its speed seems really unnecessary. Not to mention Garchomp's main use was to Earthquake with STAB before its opponent can since it has a decent speed in regular form.

Easy, Mega Heracross(amazing attack) with Pin Missile/Bullet seed(Pin Missile for STAB, Bullet Seed for accuracy) is really OP

max attack flame orb guts heracross. that gives it around 300 attack and an immunity to status.

@@josedeleon6961 That attack won't be nearly as good once it's turn ends, burns half the victim's attack, so that Mega Heracross is gonna get a drastic attack reduction and 1/16 of its health in damage from turn 2 onwards.

My favorite way to use Mega Heracross is to have regular Heracross with moxie get an attack boost first then mega evolve it so that it can just clean up with its skill link ability.

I wish they made Mega Heracross just a bug type; that way it’s more resistant to Psychics (but still has fighting moves, albeit these moves would be less strong altogether than if used by regular Heracross). I love Pinser for that reason, a Bug type that won’t get wiped out by a Mewtwo’s psychic!

If you're gonna run regulars vs megas, it doesn't make sense that the non-mega has to fight without an item. Since the game is balanced around the idea that Megas don't get items, so they get a big power boost, wouldn't it make sense to give an item to the non-megas? Even like an Expert Belt, or an appropriate Choice item, or something of that nature?

I prefer regular Heracross myself, partly because of its deign, but also because Mega Heracross doesn't use Megahorn. I feel like if I'm going to use Heracross, it's no fun without its signature move. Also, my team for Pokemon Crystal contains a Heracross. Heracross is actually pretty bad in a single-player run of gen 2, but mine had Hidden Power Fighting, making it much more useful.
