After catching what was close to a personal best peacock bass, I then started catching big tilapia free lining the biggest shrimp I could find in my bucket! It is so cool trying all these new types of fishing. The tilapia tasted amazing - so light, so flaky, so fresh!

But im a great caster and i know what bait to use for what fish, what time of day is perfect, you know the basics. But now that i can fish i can feed myself for a lifetime with just a pole, a hook and some bread

Some beautiful fish, and that Tilapia is wonderful to eat..especially fresh out of the water. One thing though, when you fillet it, do a ( curve around that front fin..you left a lot of meat there to waste, just do a curve around it ( then follow the steps as laid out. On bigger fish like that we will usually do the rib bones while it's still connected to the skin, just to give you a bigger holding surface, but it's the same.
