Achalu is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. It is located in the Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district. Acchalu is an village which is belongs to Doddamane Kutumba, the village started behind the hill on the year of 1st century built a big house called as ACCHALU Doddamane ( first house in Acchalu village) and started new village and put the name as Achala which is calling Acchalu.
Makar Sankranti, the first festival of the year is here and in India, Sankranti which is also known as Harvest festival is celebrated with great zeal and fervor. The festival marks the movement of the sun into the Makar (Capricorn) sun sign. It also marks the end of winters and start of longer days. This harvest festival which is a significant day for farmers is known as Suggi Habba or Makar Sankramana in Karnataka and people will celebrate the same today. Suggi Habba is one of the pious and important festivals of Karnataka.
