Marriage is also for sexual desire. Earlier people lived in families and women didn’t work so people make unhappy and unhealthy marriage work. For live-in you protect your finances and other assets plus if you find a partner who is your intellectual and emotional match, why would you leave that person for religion or caste or small mindedness of families.

Live in relationship mainly benefits men, it's facts, it will not motivate him to go extra miles to work hard to provide and take care of you.
