@@TehTussin Isn't that just a preference setting while creating your skater in these games? The NPC's probably because it looks less confident and those are just randos.

@@insaincaldo Nah it's not game settings, it's just which button you use to push. On Xbox, A is your right foot, X is your left (it's the same with one foot grabs/footplants etc.) So if you ride regular, A to push with back foot, and X if you ride goofy, then vice versa makes you push mongo.

@@xprestonx So, I thought I remembered it being a choice and I checked, it's both. You can switch at will during gamelplay, but you can set which is your preferred and that will be witch one is your (A) on xbox.

Skate 3 had a HOM feature where you could put it slow motion and where you could get some x-ray. If it was M rated I'm sure it would get super brutal

There's actually a good strategy, albeit a boring one, where you stand in a radius where the maw can't melee you or dig underground while you just strafe left to right holding down your trigger.

They should make more series like this, I really enjoy the calmer feeling to these videos. I was really disappointed in Achievement Hunter the last couple of years, and this is starting to make me enjoy AH again.

Getting extra speed hops in is like trying to improve or correct your powerslide in CTR, but failure still being inevitable. Also, I wonder if just “pushing” at the right times actually would have been easier, though I’ve never played the game.

On the note of crazy real falls. Just recently saw a guy with one of those all terrain airwheels zoom past, dip behind a hill and suddenly the wheel just came flying. Thankfully the guy didn't have a bad fall, which with stairs and trees around, pretty lucky.

I’ve never played this game or anything even remotely like it, but I really enjoyed this challenge! It was a great choice to show the person doing it at the start, so I had an understanding of what needed to be done, how, and how impressive it was. Then, having the challenge be intense enough but doable enough that one person was doing it and actively progressing with every attempt made this really interesting to watch. Some of the other videos have been so niche that I just didn’t find them interesting if I didn’t know the game intimately (like Bioshock).

Ollies are fine, in this game they keep momentum much better than just cruising. But they do need to be straight ollies and, more importantly, you don't really need that much speed for this gap

They actually don’t. I’ve been playing skate 3 since the day it released, and if you play deathrace online, doing ollies on flatground actually increases speed if done clean. If you don’t land perfect it will kill your speed, but if you land or perfectly you will gain speed not lose it.

Not sure if it would be good content, since it's a bit more niche, but there are two new skateboarding games that take the realism even further than the Skate series. Skater XL is probably the closest to a spiritual successor, though a bit barebones in terms of content. And then Session is in early access, and is much more of a simulator, where even a simple flatground trick can be a tough challenge.
