It's a low chance, I know, but in case they read this... Learn all treasure hunt perks, then use 4 wood frames to mark the edges of the treasure area from all 4 directions: North, South, East and West. Then start digging in the middle of the frames, go 3 deep and then start digging around until you find the chest.

In my opinion the developers should've made it harder to find. That entire quarry that Jeremy was working on was amazing. Other than that, I've never seen anyone really dig a lot in this game, which is a shame. I really dislike the fact that all treasure chests are within about 3 blocks of dirt. It's as if all the locks in Skyrim or Fallout were Very Easy.

The fact that they're talking about an event that happened in a Skyfactory video that was released quite a while ago shows how long ago they filmed this vs it being posted in December. ^_^ The episode they're talking about came out September 1st, and was probably filmed a week or two beforehand, so let's say mid to late August. They're way they're talking implies that episode was filmed the day before, so this was also filmed mid to late August, while it's only being posted now. That's almost a 4 month difference between it being filmed and posted.

Quick rip for treasure hunting. Treasure not in water is usually only 2-4 blocks down. It can be anywhere from 5-10 blocks from the center. Best way to get it is update your treasure hunting skill. If not then use frames to locate the center from the outside edges. Then dig from the center out.

idk if it's still viable, but in the past when playing 7dtd on console we discovered that due to a lack of ability to spawn directly in water; a base made in the middle of a massive body of water like the "ocean" jack and gav swim through is in little to no danger from zombies. just to be safe though we built all the way down to the underwater ground and then 4 more blocks down and made the foundation out of steel reinforced concrete, iirc the strongest buildable block in the game. just connect it to the mainland with a 6 block wide bridge with 2 block high walls and you can even drive your minibikes right back to your home.
