Achieving Studio Bliss - Is Dorico Pro Worth It?

Thanks for the overview. I’ve subscribed! Do you think Steinberg will develop the use of the apple pencil on the iPad? I love the app but seems like a huge missed opportunity. I don’t mean to draw notes a la Staffpad, but just to input notes directly and manipulate different elements. I’m sure it’s not an easy thing to do, but I do hope they have that in their sights for the future.

Thanks for subscribing! I agree that it’s kind of a missed opportunity. But, all indications on the forum is that they don’t really have any intention to do that in the near term. I’d really like to see them add the capability to draw in notes. Staff pad is great, but then I have to export that. It would be nice to have it inside the Dorico ecosystem. Alas, it doesn’t seem to be in the cards…

Congrats for your talk. Are paid versions able to import lilypond files?

Thanks for posting! I don’t use Lilypond and I haven’t tried an import. But, Lilypond does appear to support exporting as MusicXML. You should be able to get that into Dorico - even the free version.
