Acid Bath at a bingo parlor in South Carolina (just across the bridge from Savannah, GA). The best I recall it was 1996... Tank 18, The Spo-Its, Acid Bath, D.R.I.

Acid Bath was so far beyond its time. Me and my girlfriend used to hang out in the woods, smoke weed, and listen to them on a cassette player.

Yeah their music definitely feels very of nature that's for sure. Like it pays homage to the sacredness of the natural world. "The skyscrapers look like gravestones, yeah, from out here."

hands down one of the best live performances ever and it's in some kind of auditorium/gym with a handful of very young kids who were some extremely lucky mofos!!!

mizmiz80 This was at a bingo parlor in South Carolina... just over the bridge from Savannah. The name was Flamingo Bingo (I think). They would let us have shows there every now and then. Either right before or right after this Acid Bath/ D.R.I.show there was a Sour Vein / Buzzov-en show.

On their second trip through our town they came with DRI headlining. Sold out all age show in a bar of 750. Every motherfucker in there sang every word to Acid Baths set then promptly left with only 20 of us staying for DRI lol. Best part is their first trip through was a blizzard and only 30 made it to the show, their cd made its rounds in less than three months to turn the an unknown to anyone to one of the towns favorites

I still have a postcard that Audie "Pete" sent to me post marked from Charleston, South Carolina October 21, 1996. We knew him well we all grew up together. We had just hung-out 2 weeks prior to his second to last show in January 1997 New Orleans. Tipotinas had a $500,000 sound system that they used to make goose bumps on my arm to just think about how heavy "New Death Sensation" was compared to the show at a Skate-park September 1996 where I lived in Arkansas.

By 2000 these guys would of broke out and been huge..they would all be multimillionaires right now....I know that's not every artists aspirations but I'm sure they wouldn't of complained to much..lolol They really have some great songs...They were the 90s Black Sabbath.. coming from nowhere and nothing to being huge...I can understand the death of there Bass Player(RIP AUDIE)..but godamn there commercial success was so close..

Pagan terrorism was a lil less raw,but easily makes up for it with much, slower, heavier, thicker and warmer guitar tones.Because they used all tube amps, instead of solid state, like on The kite string album. And the songs are so much more unique and avant- garde. Much more diverse and memorable.Too heavy for radio play, but so great and special enough to eventually rise up from the underground. It was just a matter of time. Shame! R.I.P. Audie....... .

@@bjquebedeaux3597 Hell yeah! My first exposure to Samael was with the "Blood Ritual" album - really, the first Black Metal album I ever purchased.
