About the google Deep Dream:
I always wanted to run a deep dream algorithm over one of my fractal animations to make it more trippy. But I thought: When you want to do it, then do it right!
So I didn't choose a normal animation as the fractal source but I used a 4K 360° fractal as the source animation.
That wasn't easy and took a lot of experiments and programming in python.
Problems I had to solve:
- rendering 4K images via CPU is too slow - solution: use google deep dream with CUDA support so my GeForce GTX 970 could do the work much faster
- deep dreaming of 4K images wasn't possible because of memory problems (neural networks need a lot of RAM) - solution: for the final 4K dreaming do a lot of randomly selected 400x400 pixel dream squares
- keep also the fine 4K dream details stable during the animation so it doesn't flicker so much - solution: do some additional blending at the right time
- use various deep dream inception modes but blend them smoothly - solution: start the dreaming of the second animation already based on a fading sequence from the first animation and do some addition blending
- we have a 360° video so dream at left side should match to dream at right side - solution: copy a left stripe to the right and a right stripe to the left, dream and crop to original size
- we have a 360° video but you can't dream top and bottom correct - solution: blend top and bottom to black

But either way, it's important to take nothing literally since the book is full of allegories. I've only read the new testament but even here you have the allegory of fire when the holy spirit is described, but they obviously don't mean literal fire. They mean the force and power with which the holy spirit fills the apostles and compare it to fire. So I'd still need the Bible parts to know the accuracy of your claim but couldn't find the Dr Mythos you talked about. Edit: sorry for my poor English at this point

I actually just finished my two gel tab trip. I think it was supposedly around 800 ug. I don't know tho. But it was beautiful. I had a range of emotions from sadness and depression to being at a very euphoric state. I also realized that we're destroying each other. We live off each other. One analogy is that some of us like an artists music because it's "sad and beautiful" and why is it sad? Because the artist had to physically go through pain and an experience of sadness to inevitably create the sad music we like and love. We're our own monsters. Instead of living life at a capitalist state we should live life off of happiness. Happiness is the main goal. Being at peace is the ultimate goal. Once you're at peace all the materialistic things don't matter. So go and actually do the things you "want" and "wish" you could do. If you really set your mind to it you can and will be able to overcome any obstacle that's in your way. I love you and this is just a shorty summary of what I was thinking about.

In my experiences with LSD, this has never been anything close to what I’ve seen, and I’ve taken very large doses. There have been times where it’s like I’m practically blind because of the intensity of the trip, but never anything such as dogs or something. It was usually (during bad trips) these horrible creatures I felt the presence of but could not see. Yet somehow I knew exactly what they looked like (basically a spade with big Rolling Stones esc. Lips and sharp teeth with vacant eyes.) In conclusion, cool video but (for LSD anyways, I don’t think it’s very accurate.)

Same here. Having just a bit of experience with 3d animation and the deep dream simulator, this is mind blowing. What programs do you use?

The base 360° fractal animation is created with Mandelbulb 3D. Then I used the google DeepDream python notebook and did a lot of extra programming for the 4K rendering, 360° wrapping, top-botton blending and so on. I will release a tutorial / the python sourcecode when I find the time.

Acid is not supposed to deliver a visual trip, even though it does at high doses. Every time s friend has reported hallucinations on acid is also when they have had enough and didn't enjoy the hallucinations at all

I would use high resolution as input. And check out the other neural technology "style transfer" (aka "deep style"). It is much more powerful than the standard DeepDream because you can control the result by an style input image. Thanx :-) Well I already had the quite normal 3D fractal flight and wanted to experiment with google DeepDream. Biggest problem was to modify the DeepDream sourcecode for quite seemless 360°, for 4K images (RAM issue) and a smooth transition of the various models. So it was more a programming project ;-)
