Great job I am doing mine the same way can u tell me what stain to perform first and what else after that..?

This is a pretty complex process. We used 7 different colors of color hardener on the surface before stamping. Once Stamped we then used 7 different colors of acid Staining with different dilution rates. We then added liquid antiquing and sealed

Thank you so much. I knew nothing about staining and stamping. You showed me every step. I have contractors that seem to want to show me the cheaper way instead of acid painting each one. Aggravating. Just give me the price and I will choose.

This would work on a block wall? The blocks aren't your tradition gray concrete pavers but a more rough but dense looking material the color of sand. I want to make it a darker more blackish color but everyone says not to paint it with regular paint.
@bensconcretecreations Жыл бұрын
Creative thought there George. So I wouldn't use a reactive stain like this as the viscosity of it is water and will run all down the wall creating different color run marks. I would use either one of 2 things.. if you are ok with a opaque, solid color paint look, you could use a product by H&C you can get a Sherwin Williams which is basically a concrete paint. Since it's like paint and solid color be prepared for a checkered board look if using different colors. If you wanted transparent colors kinda like this video you could go with whatever colors you like of exterior flat water based paint. Once you get the Colors you like, you can dilute that extior flat water based 4 parts water to one part paint and it will give you a nice transparent stain.

What product is used to create the blackened highlights?
@bensconcretecreations Жыл бұрын
That is called a liquid antiquing agent. Many different brand names depending on the manufacturer but this one is called permatique by a company called butterfield

Looks great! How long did you have to wait to stain it?
@bensconcretecreations2 жыл бұрын
We stain next day but using a heavy dilution rate to prevent the acid from eating through the fresh cement.

What kind of sprayer you have? I can’t get my chapin to cover that nice

It's a stainless chapin. Try the brickform precision tip and make sure to keep it pumped up to max.

Looks wonderful! How many different colors were used on this product?
@bensconcretecreations3 жыл бұрын
Thanks James! We used 6 different colors of hardener and 7 different colors of acid stains. Each different color of color hardener will make the same acid stain turn a different color so marbling with different color hardeners works great for realism. I'd highly recommend going with light colors of hardener
@mikedebellis6935 Жыл бұрын
@@bensconcretecreations Hey Ben looks so sick. So you're mixing the hardener with the stain?? Or just adding the hardener when you stamp? Thanks man
@bensconcretecreations Жыл бұрын
@mikedebellis6935 we throw all the hardeners out and work into the concrete before stamping. We do the staining next day or a few days after.

What is the neutralizing process here?
@bensconcretecreations2 ай бұрын
@davidchase8170 fill up a 5 gal bucket of water. Put 2 cups or Ammonia. Dump of acid, scrub like you're trying to scrub the stain off (which you won't but just want to get any residue off). Wash off and you're ready for your next step

What about individual accent stones in a stamp patio? I don’t want to scrub or rinse on anything else around it. Beautiful work btw

Thanks we appreciate that! This is a stainless chapen sprayer. We actually got this one at deco crete in Ohio. Pretty sure you can order one on their website. 👍

Beautiful finish. Did you neutralize the acid stain prior to adding the antiquing stain?

Yes. Although certain manufacturers say its not necessary, we still do.
