this they are a versatile race of bio organic machine life forms. technically can do or become anything but from what the tidbits of lore we get they are basically the equivalent of an office roomba. the cephs masters or creators are the real unseen threat. its why crysis earth is fucked. kinda like muv luv.

I don't get why people love it so much. They did not continue the previous story and instead replaced it with some generic NYC under attack and virus infection nonsense to allow console players to jump in. The original story was wrapped up in a god damn comic! The levels were smaller to run on cosoles, the nanosuit-functions where dumbed down because there weren't enough buttons on the controler. The aliens were generic Battleship-esque cyber humans so the AI was easier to program. They didn't feel alien anymore and didn't have the freedom of movement the floating ones in Crysis 1 had, just like the player who was basically walking down a slightly larger then average corridor while moving in a sluggish manner and being basically unable to move once energy ran out. Overall I feel like Crysis 2 was a huge disappointment, in story, in gameplay and even regarding the music (some of Hans Zimmers most generic work). I feel like the only reason most people liked it because it was the best looking game on console at the time and still had a smither of what made Crysis 1 great. While people who loved Crysis 1 where stigmatized as only caring about graphics and simply wanting to show off, a lot of people who played it on console did exactly that, while dismissing any claim that Crysis 2 was a downgrade as the whining of PC gamers. But the simple truth is that Crysis 2 just wasn't that great, in fact it was one of the biggest gaming dissapointments for me personally. But I would like to know why so many people like it. Maby I have missed something. For me it was simply the Call of Duty of the Crysis games, missing all freedom and exploration and interaction with the world around you.

The Crysis series has great potential in my eyes, the Ceph are much more interesting than anything in the Halo franchise in my opinion, they are kinda like a less OP version of the Reapers from Mass Effect and are my favorite alien race in Sci Fi after the Reapers...

Actually, the Ceph are more advanced than the Reapers from Mass Effect because they have technology that lets them travel through time and space. They also absorb all forms of energy and can control them for whatever purpose they want. In fact, there are many VS thread and the Cept always seem to win.

Well to be fair, the flash freeze process could be best explained as the ceph’s relentless desire for energy. Since absolute zero is only achieved when energy is no longer present and cold temps are acquired by siphoning thermal energy away from the area. Shame that Crysis 2 meddled a Little with the story as there was some cool stuff in Crysis and Crysis Warhead that we didn’t see carry on.

Ah Crysis... such a beloved franchise to me as well! C1 was and is still is my favorite both in gameplay and storywise. I was quite pissed when NOMAD was killed off "offscreen" in some comic book. C: Warhead was a pretty good expansion of C1! Then with C2, the story went downhill so was the "consolized" visuals and gameplay. Crytek tried to bring back that franchise with C3 and for the most part was a good game. I hope one day we would get to revisit this franchise on an eventual C4! Great video by the way! Another beloved franchise to me is Dead Space.... unsure if you made videos of that yet... still browsing your many productions :)

Crysis game are also one of my favorites. Yeah the story writing was very interesting and flawed sometimes, because the story of Crysis 1 and the last 2 parts are not perfectly alligning. But still awesome concepts and I would very happy to see new Crysis games and the universe expanding. Sadly there isn't that big of a chance for it, since the games were ment mainly for demoing the Cryengine. And as far as I know, Crytek as a company is also not in that good of a position right now. Plus on top of that...who has the license? Yeah..sadly the worst publisher ever. EA! :( So not that much of a hope for this franchise....but maybe...maybe one day :)

That was only the theory of Hargreave. In Crysis 3 it is revealed that the ceph are a 1 billion years old species that wiped out most forms of life in the universe and later colonized it, so not really the god guys. At the end of Crysis 3 if you fail to destroy the stage 3 warship, it would simply sterilize the planet, killing of all forms of organic life for later colonization

Ceph's greatest weakness (which they thought strength) was hive mind. Nomad can approach a goal in so many different ways he is unpredictable as fuck. We all can relate to that. Our individualism might cause problems but it is also our greatest strength. We all have same blood but no one can predict what each one of us can do in future and accomplish. Humans think outside the box. After billions of years of improvement in technology, Ceph's still act like ants LOL. When I defeated the Alpha Ceph my life was changed. I realized maybe we are more than primates. We might be the most advanced species after all. A shaman told me the whole universe is within human spark.

The first game nonchalantly hinted at a full scale invasion at the very end when you're on the carrier you can see thousands of those squid droids flying past while you fight the final boss but none of those droids have I seen yet in the second game I'm about three quarters way through even the squid in the battle armor on foot don't quite really look like the ones I saw in the first game just caught me off guard I like the game so far I'll report it after I'm done the third

Ancient Ceph are over 1 billion years old and since then they colonized numerous galaxies in the universe because of their incredible ability to adabt to environments where the human mind is completely useless and would drive us insane in seconds. The Ceph on Earth are probably adapted to the last planet they conquered or a very young hive, nothing compared to ancient Ceph. For example the giant Ceph spaceship at the end of Crysis 3 isn't a ship, it's a single living Ceph from stage 3 and this one is send to destroy such a weak species like humans, so there are even Ceph incredibly more powerful. Compared to the Ceph in the M33 galaxy the Ceph on Earth are cavemens and humans are at best a single celled organism.

Ceph probably don't have something like a "civilization" and probably are higher advanced than humans could imagine even with the Kardashev scale which just relies on the human definition of a civilization. However, compared to the Ceph, humans look like one celled organisms so we have no idea what the Ceph really are. using our primitive minds, we call the Ceph a hive species, because we can't explain them in another way. Imagine ancient Ceph trying to explain the universe to us: our heads would explode:) Given the fact that humans are a species based on evolution we will probably never reach the level of the Ceph, no matter how advanced we are and I'm almost sure we will extinct before we could even reach a Type II civilization :( And don't forget that Ceph are a fictional species made by humans and there still so badass, so imagine what a real alien species is capable of...

Created by Ceph and accidentally assisted by US Marines, because they nuked the Island that habitated by Ceph in First game, and the Ceph absorbed the energy released from the nuke and that energy is enough to make an Alpha Ceph. I think Alpha Ceph is an artificial intelligence to control the ceph creatures at hundreds of kilometers away from their spaceship.
