The Advanced Elements AirFusion EVO Inflatable Kayak is unlike any other inflatable kayak out there with a unique construction creating a high performance beast. It is a high-pressure hybrid kayak that takes the award-winning design of the original AirFusion to the next level - upgraded with rigid, 6-10 PSI dropstitch technology. The AirFusion EVO combines a unique fusion of aluminum alloy frame poles and high-pressure, dropstitch air tubes, resulting in a high-performance, rigid frame system which rivals the handling and speed of skin-on-frame kayaks. The outer shell is constructed from a polyurethane tarpaulin that gives it a smoother finish, increased rigidity and a more hydrodynamic outline. It also features three aluminum ribs on the floor and under the hull, providing a sculpted look as well as a v-shaped keel, which aids in slicing through the water. Another element of construction is six inflation chambers (two side chambers, booster seat, two thwarts and the coaming tube) and the dropstitch tubes are removable, allowing one to replace just a part if needed. Other features include an integrated rear storage hatch, foam floor, integrated storage hatch, bungee deck lacing, coaming tube for attaching a skirt, two landing plates, a lower seat back and the ability to use an optional tracking fin. This is an inflatable kayak elevated to another level.

We have had the Advanced Frame Convertible kayak for about 12 years. We love it. It is very stable and comfortable. We purchased the two covers which zip onto it so the kayak is closed except for the paddler or paddlers. It is an easy kayak to paddle single handed. We purchased the spine which goes under the floor but we never use it, as it did not seem to improve the behaviour of the boat and was a pain in the ass to install. We usually inflate it at home and carry it on the roof of the car to our paddling destination, and bring it home the same way, as it is then easy to hose down and let dry in the sun. We keep up with the other members of our paddling group with no problem. We do not have any room in our garage for a hard shell kayak. It takes up very little space. The only peeve I have about it is that the original bag was too small and it was a nightmare to get it back in, so I use a big hockey bag which works great.

1.) Are inflatable less safe than hard top kayaks? 2.) Is the ‘tandem-to-single’ inflatable kayak harder to maneuver on the water than the ‘traditional single’? I love that it’s a space saver, works great for those who live in small apts! I plan to buy the convertible 2 seater. 75% of the time I will kayak solo to different islands, but am concerned I won’t be getting a streamlined paddling experience and will be lugging around excess weight, making coasting the sea more difficult. 25% of the time will include a paddling partner, hence me leaving this as an option. Would love your thoughts!

I like inflatable kayaks, these are well made and yes these are even safer than hardshell kayaks.

Hi thanks for your excellent videos. I am considering to buy the Airfusion Evo for sea kayaking, can it work on the sea?. Is it possible to roll similar to a hard shell? Does it have foot pegs or something similar or how do you press with your feet? Thanks

Do the air chambers get soft when the sun goes in/temperature drops? I have this problem with my Intex Mariner and I have to pump while on the water

Does it have drain plugs for draining spray water which accumulates on the floor?

I would expect fromACK to at least provide specs right. But the very first spec you mention is already dead wrong. Evo is 13 feet, not 15 feet.

What kind of pump do I need for the air fusion evo?

Why can't you use the spine with the drop stitch floor. I understand it's your weight that pushes the bar down to give the v hull and the drop stitch doesn't bend but what if you put a layer of high density foam between the spine and the the drop stitch floor. My idea was to shave the foam in the shape of something like this (I so the foam would push down on the spine to get the V you wanted
