2025 Auto Expo | Is Hyundai now making rickshaws?

Hyundai announced that it had undertaken a project with bike maker TVS Motor Company which would look at mobility solutions for the last-mile travel. Hyundai showcased a three wheeler and a four wheeler concept at the Auto Expo 2025, to give us a glimpse on what the company is capable of. Talking about the project and also giving Siddharth Vinayak Patankar a complete understanding on the thought process behind the two concepts is none other than SangYup Lee, Global Design Head, Hyundai and Genesis. He talks about how safe they are and also why it was important for Hyundai to showcase them. All that and more in this interview.

Are Automobile manufacturers even thinking while designing such hi-tech Rickshaws, The kind of hooligan driving we witness every single day by the auto driver, this kind of Torque at their disposal is only going to lead to more road rages. I have myself witnessed 3 such accidents over the previous month because the auto driver decided to run the red light and mind you these were are major damage accidents, not the regular scratch and brush accidents.People should really think about the implications their actions can have on society. It is an intra-city mode of transport, and there is no need for such higher power numbers for them.

India is cost conscious market. When we bring such product remember bells and whistles make no sense. Don't have screens and all that. Only need is build an interface to connect the phone that can work as the console screen. Ensure its enclosed and air cooled if not air conditioned.
