as someone who grew up in florida, i LOVE alligators (and crocodiles too), and i would always be so sad when people would freak out about alligators being in their backyards (which had ponds in them) and call animal control to "get rid" of them 😢... like if you just respect them and are smart about you living on THEIR territory, they won't hurt you and will leave you alone. the only times when alligators would start being dangerous was when people would start feeding them, which is illegal anyway. anyway, to end my little rant I also really like the alligator growl and think it's really cool/nostalgic ☺🐊

I would not all be concerned if I lived in Florida and saw alligators around my property, UNLESS, I had small dogs. I feel like that’s when people tend to “freak out”. They are concerned about their small pets being a meal.

@@mindyleann4197 Then they shouldn't let their pets outside, if that's the case or get better fencing for their property. The territory belongs to the alligators, as long as they can get in, not people and their pets. Wild animals were here first and it's humans that invaded their homes, so that's on them. lol Humans forget that they have zero right to dictate what nature does and should instead work to adapt to wild animals, instead of being dramatic and foolish. I live in the British countryside, plenty of wild animals and I LOVE seeing them, from afar, of course. lol I just watch from my window. P.S. I get people worrying about their small pets and I'm not saying I don't care about their pets, because I love all animals, but I can't stand when people forget that they're the ones being invasive, not the wild animals. Humans are just too greedy and entitled. They could just protect their pets better and be more responsible, then wild animals won't be a problem. fences exist for a reason, or they could build something like a catio or puppatio. lol There are ways of doing it without being too expensive.

Okay, but now I need to gush about two crocodylomorphs that *didn't* make it to the modern era. Simosuchus the 'pug croc' and Kaprosuchus the 'boar croc.' Two of my favorite extinct crocodylomorphs , on opposite ends of the "I wish this still existed//thank goodness it doesn't exist anymore (but it's still really cool that it did)" spectrum. I beg of anyone reading this who hasn't heard of them, look them up. Check them out. To put it *very* basic though, Simosuchus was just a little dude, about the size of a large house cat, had a short snout, and was very likely an herbivore. Kaprosuchus was a bit longer than your typical saltwater croc, but he had some serious legs. And teeth. He could run fast. This man likely ate dinosaurs for a living, and I am afraid but also enthralled.
