The auto sorting system has been around for an extremely long time, tons of people have tutorials on yt and the design hasn't changed in like 10 years (there are variants but the one in the video looks like the original version except with a lava disposal at the end)

This farm is from ianxofour I think. So I think why it didn't work is because he talks about bounding box stuff and says your not suppose to make it near the fortress, so that stuff don't spawn on the fortress. But spawn proofing the fortress still works, in my opinion it seems to take a lot longer. please correct me if I am wrong. Great video.

U can use a fire resistance potion if you are having problems with blazes. Not only will you not burn but you won't actually take any dmg at all from the blazes attack
