Acoustic ceiling design at the University of Strasbourg | Case Studies

In Strasbourg, France, the real estate body Direction du Patrimoine Immobilier recently unveiled two new projects at the University of Strasbourg: La Manufacture de Tabac, a former tobacco factory built in 1849 converted into a major space with various facilities, and Le Patio, a 146-seat cafeteria that replaces an old dining hall.
The strategy and approach for each project was different - but they do share a critical feature: acoustic comfort, developed with the use of the Rockfon ceiling solutions.
Installed between the beams at the ex-tobacco factory, Rockfon Color-all ceiling tiles in the Hemp and Cork colours are held in place using double angles, which, according to the installer, allow the framework to be hidden and provide a continuous coloured effect.
