Country-blues troubadour Roy Book Binder stopped by the Acoustic Guitar Sessions studio to perform songs from his 2013 album The Good Book (on his own label Pegleg Records).
Watch above as Book Binder, a ragtime master, sings “It Coulda Been Worse,” “Step Right Up,” and “The Good Book,” and spins a few yarns about being a student, friend, (and chauffeur!) of Reverend Gary Davis, performing with bluesman Pink Anderson, and his secret to mastering guitar playing.
Book Binder plays a Tony Klassen-built replica of a Montgomery Ward version of a 1930 Gibson Nick Lucas Special. (The original is owned by Norman Blake.)

I started learning Roy's songs early on in my guitar playing and now almost 50 years later I'm still learning 'em. One of my guitar heros.

"When you have a limited kit of basic guitar playing, and you use it all the time, it becomes a distinct style. John Hartford told me that." 10:48

Roy, I discovered you late, when I was about 50, bout 15 years ago. I remember a comment you made, " Stop by my trailer and say hi." Great music from a nice, approachable guy.
