2:58 A. 3:11 B 3:26 B 3:41 A. You can hear more treble zing on A 3:55 A. 4:13 B B's notes are... rounder.

I am lucky enough to have both the E10DTC and E10OMTC along with an E10D. All three are amazing guitars but the TC’s just have something special that not many guitars have. I advise anyone interested in any of these guitars or any other instrument for that matter to stop by The Acoustic Shoppe and see John, Jeremy, Jason or Liz. Awesome folks that have outstanding knowledge of the instruments unlike a lot of the Big Box Stores. Heath

To be honest, I'm in a smallish room right now, with a window air conditioner going, and although I have no headphones and can't really tell one guitar from the other, I _do know_ that's some of the best flatpicking I've ever heard. Tone and accuracy, dynamics, and the guitars are recorded beautifully. Just a big A+ on the sound coming out of those guitars!

My preference was for Guitar B. I thought it had a better overall tone -- and I was surprised to find it was the E10D and not the TC model.

Guitar “A” to my ear had more ring and clarity while guitar “B” sounded a little muddy to me. Just my 2 cents. I’d get the E10D-TC

I bought a E10D a few years ago and it is somewhere in the middle of the two (from acoustic shoppe). It is my favorite even though I have owned high end guitars. Sounds great, plays great, looks great and I am not afraid to take it places.

Great playing on two beautiful guitars! I have to agree with John's video comments.

I watched again...agree with your conclusion, both are Great but A, the TC has more presence and seems more responsive and sensitve to picking or finger dynamics. I'd buy the TC between these 2 models.

You got me. I could have sworn that Guitar B was thermo cured, and I liked Guitar A so much more. I stand corrected. Now that five years has past since this posting, it would be interesting to hear how a five year old well played E10D sounds compared to a brand new E10D-TC. Does thermo-curing do anything to a guitar's tone that natural break-in does not or do they wind up sounding the same after break-in occurs? Then the next comparison would be between a five year old well played E10D-TC and and brand new E10D-TC to see if a thermo-cured guitar stays the same or continues to change as it ages?

Guitar A has a more equalized stereo sound, brings out the richness of the mahogany (I love it). Guitar B has slightly more volume and clarity without that stereo richness that the tc top provides.

I have the other E10D-TC :) It's an amazing guitar. Also, what strings are you using on the E10D-TC? Thanks for this comparison.
@jw99477 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Great video. TC sounded better to me as well. Eastman website recommends D'Addario EXP 16 for 10D and 10D-TC. That's how my 10D is strung now and I like it. But I suspect it came with 17's when I bought it. The 10D sound is still huge with 16's.

The reason that so many experienced guitar players find it difficult to try out new guitars in the shops these days is that most now come with those damn "coated" strings, and they are usually light gauge strings to boot. So, in most cases, you are hearing a guitar with "two hands tied behind its back" so to speak. You have to just have to imagine what the guitar would sound like with uncoated mediums on it. For many of us it just isn't worth it.
