What a beautiful guitar. I might have to pick this one up at some point. I’m typically more of a dreadnought or jumbo person, but I’m really starting to like a lot of smaller guitars lately.

@patricklundquist9869 Жыл бұрын
An open D chord would be D A D F# A D, which is an awesome chord by the way. On the other hand, that guitar is in standard tuning so John is playing a cowboy D chord, which would be a standard D chord but with the addition of the thumb holding down the low E string at the second fret to form an F# so he can strum all six strings.

@@cleagymeen9465 "Open Position" chords, not to be confused with "Open D" chord, not to be confused with "Drop D" chord. 1. A standard D chord is "Open Position" but only 5 strings can be strummed while the Low E cannot be used. (Tuned EADGBE) 2. A "Cowboy" "Open position" chord, allows for all 6 strings to be played with the A and D strings open while the other 4 strings are fretted. (Also Tuned EADGBE) 3. A "Drop" D allows all 6 strings to be played with only three strings fretted. (Tuned DADGBE) 4. An "Open D" allows a D to be played without any strings being fretted at all. (Tuned DADF#AD) 5. And then there is the famous and more versatile DADGAD which also allows all strings to be strummed without fretting. There are places you can play a bar chord D, but very few people will do that down where John is playing.

Hello again, kind of liking the PCH Dreadnought in classic finish. Can you tell me the difference between the Eastman PCH1-d and PCH2-d in classic finish?
@AcousticShoppe11 ай бұрын
@@supercraig2009 They are pretty similar but the main difference is the PCH1's come with Laminated Sapele back and sides while the PCH2's come with Laminated Rosewood back and sides. The next major difference is that the PCH1's have an all satin finish and the PCH2's have a gloss finish top. Although when it comes to the classic finish color, the PCH1's are still available in that finish and the PCH2's we just a limited edition option. Here are a few videos that may help your decision making as well: Here we go over the entire PCH series: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5rTiYCLjtSmhLM Then in this video we talk about the new 2023 specs of the PCH2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l3rHmaqQgMiepdk Let us know if you have any more questions!

Bought the same model in France (left it there at a friend's house cause I didn't want to bring it back to Canada). I would say that for the price, it's a bargain! Obviously, don't expect a rosewood fingerboard at that price (it's Laurel) but the feel and sound is way above the Martin lower end guitars.

How would you rate or compare to Yamaha FG830?
@AcousticShoppe Жыл бұрын
They are VERY comparable guitars and I believe most people would be happy picking up either. The biggest difference (besides price) would be the finish options and that the Eastman comes with a case whereas the Yamaha does not, you would just have to buy it separately. Our best advice is to play the instruments in person if you can. If not, we do have both models in stock and we can send you tone samples via email. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Good question! John recommends the MD305E or MD315E (Depending on if you want an A-Style or F-Style mandolin.) because they have built in electronics, ready for a quick plug in and play situation, much like what you may need on a church stage. They have an awesome look & their price is awesome compared to similar mandolins: www.theacousticshoppe.com/shop/Instruments/Mandolins/Eastman/p/Eastman-MD305E-SB-A-Style-Hand-Carved-Sunburst-Mandolin-w-KK-Pickup-1619-x70108788.htm

What would be better this or the Eastman E1D?
@AcousticShoppe Жыл бұрын
They are both great guitars & choosing either one will give you a great playing experience, though they do have some differences. The most notable difference is that one is a Dreadnought & the other is an OM (note that you can also find a PCH2D or an E1OM if you prefer one shape over the other.). The most important upgrade that the E1D has is an "all-solid" construction, whereas the PCH line has a solid top & laminate Back & Sides. In this video we compare the two back to back & dig deeper into what that means for the sound of the guitars: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXjUo4lsn5eYipo Short answer: both are great, just different.

Peel off slowly using a blow drier or heat gun. After it cools, remove residual glue with Ronsonol lighter fluid. (Do not light the fluid!) Just use it to gently wipe. If you get the pickguard off without destroying the finish, I get all the credit. If you destroy the finish, it's all your fault.

No guitar costs under $500 unless the labor was virtually free and the materials are practically particle board. And by free labor, I mean almost slave labor in East Asia. Stop buying that crap and get a real instrument that doesn’t require human trafficking to be manufactured.
@patricklundquist9869 Жыл бұрын
I have no clue if Eastman is human trafficking with Chinese slave labor or how you can tell just based on the price they sell for here. How could you even find out? I guess you'd need to know the cost of living in China followed by how much Eastman pays their builders. About, "practically particle board," I understand the need to exaggerate when trying to make an uninformed point. You can buy Yamaha FG800 acoustics all day long for $229 and on sale for $199.99. So why is the Eastman price for a laminate guitar double? Because the quality, tone and playability are all fantastic.
