all the people saying that it's a fake bottle: the 40ml doesn't have the same features as the rest of the sizes (75m, 180ml): meaning no magnetic cap and no silvery bottom.The juice is still the same! (I have all 3 of them) Also, to my understanding, there never was made fakes of acqua di gio essenza. At least never have faced 1

As I am a little older, I prefer ADG Essenza . . . It's really nice, lasts long and is a great compliment getter ! This could also be someones signature scent . . . Thanks for sharing !

Yesssss Bradley!! Essenza is in my top 10 personal favorite list, love it. So refreshing and compliments galore. Bigger bottles do have the magnetic cap (on the 2.5 & 6 oz versions at least). My vote is for Essenza.

It's very close to the original imo, except grassier with the vetiver. It's like ADG but for the spring. Stunning flanker. Also the best presentation ever in the ADG line. If the original is by the beach, than Essenza is a walk in the woods near a tropical beach. I'd rather put this in Spring rotation than summer- the EDP makes it punch past the cooling spring air and the grassy vibes make this far greener. More in the polo green cool water family than the original. Original vintage is a odd mystical sweet moss base where as this is woody- very sexy!

buri zaemon Father's day is coming up and I want a good cologne to buy for my father and grandfather I smelled the original adg and I love that but I want something different cause they already have the original one I want something that's going to last and it smells good and make them happy so please help me out and I'm 14 so i really need help in that department

Same, the incense just comes off way too powdery on my skin. Same with versace dylan blue.

@@DoomiePookie I don't have that problem with either of these fragrances. I think it's either your skin or your nose maybe both. But they both smell amazing and not powdery at all to me. All though dylan blue is a bit synthetic smelling kinda like sauvage when you put your nose close to it.

I like this more but I think Profumo is a better creation from an artistic point of view. both ADG flankers keep the dna which is awesome. a lot of flanker nowadays go in totally different directions. and I also like that they didn't milk this with 20 flankers for every year. just look at Issey miyake lol. and more recently YSL l'homme

Hello. Can someone please let me know (they never touch on this question directly)...the original ADG (eau de toilette) is a great fragrance. Do Essenza and Profumo smell like ADG EDT, only stronger...or are they three completely different scents?

Good review! By the way, just one question: given your ratings per parameter (4/5, 2.5/5, 4.5/5 and 3.5/5), the Arithmetic mean is 3.625 , that is, the final rating should be 7.25/10 (or 7 1/4/10). Why 8/10? Do you give different weights to rating parameters?

Like other frag channel, no, I suppose he doesn't calculate all the specific ratings to give final rating. Final rating is independent, it's more like your overall feel to it of how much you love it, fundamentally.

the comparisons to perry ellis 360 red are valid. I may get essenza at some point just to have all 3 di gios but other things to purchase at this point, especially with 360 red being very identical.

Brad, I bought a used one recently. I cannot compare it with a new one as it is already discontinued in my country. The scent does not open similar to the original ADG, nor does it have the huge aquatic smell than the original. Drydown has some nuances of Armani Code, like some smokiness - it smells clean and has good performance. It does have some nuances also of ADG Profumo which I own, but what concerns me is that the scent does not evolve at all similar than the original ADG. Bottle is exactly as the one I'm seeing in other reviews (it is a 3.4 Oz). Batch code refers to 2015. Based on what I'm telling you, would you say that the liquid has gone stale or is it legit? Thanks!!!

I'm a huge fan of the original adg but I feel like it has been ruined by reformulation. It's not as woodsy like it used to be; it's more of a citronella plant based fragrance which bothers me. Essenza sounds like vintage original

Agreed profumo is the best from Giorgio Armani. Armani Code profumo is his 2nd best in my opinion it has similar performance to ADGP and smells like a mix between the original armani code and 1 million so if you haven't tried it yet you should.

Profumo all the way. The reast are too weak for me. Maybe essenza, but I replaced original with 360 red. Can I ask you... of the two, bvlgari atlantique or dylan blue, which one would you go for?

they're both really similar, but I'd go it aqva atlantique - i think the aquatic edge makes it more interesting than VDB

Agreed. Tried them before but never side by side. And yeah, Atlantiqve is a looot better. It is so smooth, a cross between adg profumo and sauvage with a very prominent Aqua DNA in the dry down, that aquatic seaweed that infuses perfectly with smooth sweetness. Dylan Blue is rugged, needs refining. The transitions of Dylan I find harsh and no well blended although it is an amazing frag, a mass pleaser which I love in general. But Atlantique is another level for me. I couldn't stop snifing my hand, like I couldn't with both sauvage and profumo... and now atlantiqve... bt not dylan blue. So I know which one is for me.

MrET I had perry ellis red for 7 years before it spoiled and it was identical to essenza. performed better too. my batch was 2011 and was beastly outperforming all the adg flankers. from what I've heard it's weak now. essenza has also been reformulated. if I were u but profumo I have it. it's ok

I prefer the presentation of essenza but a magnetic cap would have been great! NOW!...the more important part... Essenza has a disgusting note in the drydown which reminds me of eggwhite! Cant stand it. thats why the OG and profumo wins. We'll see how the newest release (Acqua Di Gio - Absolue) will be of the the ADG line...
