Oh my goodnessi just realized that at 5 foot 10 inches give or take, i did just turn 52, we shrink a bit as we age. That i would tower next to you two. I love watching you two together. I didnt have the best relationship with my mother. Didnt really have one at all, beyond alot of yelling and screaming. Dont feel bad for me though. I scored big time when i met my husband. His mom stepped right in and taught me how to run my household, how to budget, pay bills, all of that. She also showed me how to be a good mother. Never once did she make me feel less or like i wasnt good enough. I miss her dearly. ❤ You two remind me of her. Alot. Yall have this secret language. The chatter and conversation is just so normal. Your used to seeing and talking everyday. ❤ I hope that you have the best holidays.

Y'all are very fortunate to have your Mommas. I cook in her kitchen for our family gatherings and I have a picture of her taped to the kitchen cabinet and I "talk" to her all day while I'm cooking... I figure Susan and I are around the same age range. And my heart goes out to her this is her first Holiday season without her Mom.

I lost both my parents and even though I was older I felt like an orphan all of a sudden. It does get better over time and now I think of all the good memories only.

Just wanted to mention that 4 is not old for a laying hen - they just lay larger eggs. Most hens will not be laying now because the daylight hours are too short, so unless you put a light in the hen house to come on really early, they will rest over the winter. Usually they need about 14 hours of light per day (if I am remembering correctly) to continue laying, but they will start up again next spring. Love watching you and your mom working together!

4 is fairly old for an isa brown though. That’s the main reason I’ve got heritage breeds, faverolles and australorps. Good egg production from both, but much less than hybrid layers, and they keep laying years longer. My oldest is a 6 year old faverolle who still gives me 2-3 eggs a week!

My carpet cleaner wouldn’t suck up water either. I took it to a vacuum repair shop and when you take the dirty water bucket out there is a filter under it that was clogged. Cleaned it and works fine now. Worth a look to see if that is your problem.

Pomegrante juice is not a good substitute for grenadine, because one is a syrup and one is just juice. But you can use pomegranite juice to make your own grenadine. You do need a bit of rosewater to really get it right.

I luv my Swedish dishcloths. Washable in my washer. When they get very stained and unsightly, they go to work in other places in my home. I use to clean my car, bathrooms counters, windows and more. Cuts down in paper products usage.

As a Swede I grew up with the Swedish dishcloth. I wash mine in the washingmachine in 60°-70°Celcius. I never wash them in cold water...never.😀

Persimmons are wonderful fall fruits. The hachiya variety makees wonderful cookies, cakes, bread, and pudding with vanilla sauce(like date pudding). Fuyu can be eaten raw and are sweet when ripe.

My mother has dementia and any change in her daily routine is very stressful. This Thanksgiving, we are going to my Aunt's clubhouse at her retirement home. We are having a potluck. My sister , her husband and I are driving to my parents house, (1 1/2 hour away) picking them up, and the. driving another 45 minutes to Guthrie Ok. I am making two cheesecakes...one pumpkin and one with a cranberry orange or cranberry cherry topping on the side.

Those swedish dish cloths are amazing! Strangely though, they work much better as paper towel when they are damp already. Highly recommend for replacing paper towel!

They make a kitchen-aid stand mixer pop out shelf for cabinets, this way you don't have to lift it out. 🎉

I love my Swedish washcloths. I have soaked them in bleach water when they get dirty and it’s extends the length of time to use them. I particularly love them in my kitchen. The pick up spills and messes really well and reduces the amount of paper towels I use considerably! Just ring them out well between uses.

We both get good ideas for gifts, whether it be Christmas, birthdays, or any other occasions. My daughter has grown such good patience with me as I’m in the 70’s, making me a little slower and forgetful. Honor and love your time together, you two. I lost my own mother a couple years ago, and I miss the time we spent together (sometimes laughing so hard, again, oblivious to others around us but we didn’t care) shopping and cooking together. I was just at the Costco today! So those heavy pots were nice but the samples were chipped so I passed. I throughly enjoyed myself walking around and looking at everything. They had fresh Christmas greens and they smelled so good! Nice to see your mom Happy Thanksgiving!🦃

I love the Swedish disk cloths. I’ve used them for over a year. When squeezed out well, they wipe water away like a squeegee. Food rinses out very well so the cloths do not sour.
