We have just come back from doing the same thing (myself, my wife and two children 8 & 10yr). We drove 1500km in total over three weeks and lived every minute of it! Awesome experience for the whole family

Galle is nice if you prefer the beach and swimming and Kandy if you like and prefer Culture and history. It's great that you have seen many parts of the country. If you visit next time take an unusual routine than the normal tourist routine, you would see many different aspects of culture. Specially if you ask a local where would they travel if its not ella or nuwaraeliya you would find many more beautiful and blessed places

Hi there, thanks very much for sharing good tips about travelling by Tuk Tuk in Sri lanka ... we are inspired! We are definitively going to hire one (we are also 4: myself, husband and 2 teenagers daughters) when there in a month time. We have watched all your other videos on Sri Lanka and we are going to follow an itinerary similar to yours. So far I've only booked the flights. Please could you tell me, as not clear to me, what city did you hire it from? was it from right at the start, so from Colombo? And did you drop it at the same office depot of pick up? Did you book it online before arriving in Sri Lanka? Thanks very much for your help in advance.

Hi Anatolia. I am so glad to hear that you are inspired. Because we only had 16 days driving with the Tuk Tuk. We paid the company to deliver the Tuk Tuk for us in Trincomalee. So we took the night train (so fun as well) from Colombo up to Trincomalee, stayed there for 3 nights, and had some sunbathing and swim time there. I can also recommend that. It was easiest for us so we saved time driving when we only had 16 days. And then we dropped it of in Negombo (only 1 hour away from Colombo) - so you can see that on the way too. Yes we booked in advanced on the internet, the company we booked it with was very helpfull and answered all our questions we had before hand. REMEMBER to book a Tuk Tuk with a carryon on top of the car, So you have room for your luggage. That is very important when you are 4 like us. Hope that helped? You will have the best trip I promise you 😀

Love your videos. You have sold me tuk tuk travel but sadly I am a car driver and cannot drive one. (Would like to learn). My wife's friend was danish and my mother always talked about 3 danish brothers who helped my mum's family set up an classical music orchestra in Sri Lanka in the 1950's

Hi - what would happen if you broke down in a remote area or if local drivers cant fix the problem

Then the company come and help you fix it, and if it can not be fixed they give you another Tuk Tuk. But you will find the local people very helpful if you have problems with your Tuk Tuk 😀

I did not feel scared driving around. But you have to be very aware of course. But my husband is also a very experienced driver - so start driving where the is not to much traffic - so you know the Tuk Tuk before you go places where the are lots of traffic. 😀

Nice video. I have questions. If take train from one point to another point , how to send tuk tuk to the destination? Is tuk tuk drive using manual or auto gear?

Driving a Tuk Tuk is manual gear. We took the train both ways. Maybe take the morning tour one way. Spend the afternoon in the place, and take the train back in the late afternoon to pick up your tuk tuk. We took the train from Nuwara Eliya to Ella. And I highly recommend that. did that answer your questions? 😀

Dear Francis. I am happy to hear you are a subscriber to my youtube Channel 😊. We left our TukTuk at the Train station in Nuwara Eliya (But We left our luggage at the hotel!!!!). Because the Train was late, We could not Get the Train back the same Day. So We stayed overnight at a hotel in Ella. And when We came back the next Day.
