I did this application for my mother last night who has had acrylic nails for 26 years. She loves it! I did cut her nails down, as she wore them quite long, but she's really happy with the strength. I'm a nail tech and would love to offer this where I work. I'm so glad I found this video! Thank you!

have started using this on clients in my home salon (am trained nail tech but have only used acrylics) - after I trialled on myself of course!what used to take me 1.5-1.75hrs ( refills + soak off gel) now takes less than an hour!! Awesome! could you do on top of tips? not all clients have nails as long as they would like at first.. Can't believe more people don't know about this, will be my 'point of difference' from other nail techs!! Thnx SO much!!!!

That was amazing! I never knew you'd be able to combine gel and acrylics. I've done my own acrylic fills before and the results were horrid, just because application of acrylics is just not part of my skillset.I always loved the hardness of acrylics, done at the salon, because I've always had nails that are hard to grow.

Thank you so much for this video. I will now be using this technique on my nails. I have a nice length on my nails and hate for them to break. I used ASP top coat and Mia Secret Acrylic powder for my applications. I love how they turned out. It really doesn't take long. I'm also excited to see the re-fill video and how how you can just keep doing refills. This also makes using reg polish easier. (lot less wear in tear than using just gel polish color.)

Thanks so much for this video...I use this to help grow out splits, tears and breaks. I actually had my nail tip tear completely rip off and after using a silk patch and super glue to reattach and 2 layers of AcryGel, I was able to grow it completely out, it gives the added strength I need to avoid cutting my nails down. I use CND Retention+Powder and Gelish base with good success. And it takes only about 5 minutes more to soak off. Best discovery after gel polish itself :D.

Oh, especially since I have gotten frustrated recently becuz the vitagel recovery doesn't hold up as well as foundation so my beautiful long natural nails that I had grown out, just recently broke 3 of them cuz the vitagel isn't strong enough so I had to cut them all down. I hated doing it! And then, coincidentally, here u have a video up of doing this! I am so excited, u have no idea! I have been using Gel polish for a few weeks, b/c my nails just don't grow, & I always chip the ends just enough that I have to file them down. After using the Gel polish my nails started growing & I didn't have to file the tips as much, but still needed to a little.. I tried this technique a week ago & also used 2 coats of gel color polish. I LOVE this! my nails are growing, I haven't had to file the ends at all! TY TY! Does this technique weaken natural nails like reg. acrylic nails? Thanks!

Of all the nail methods and options out there this is my favorite. And it is also easy to do on my dominate hand. Which is what I have the most trouble with. It came out smooth and natural :) thanks so much for the how to in all your videos. I have learned so much. :)
@WolfOfTheColdMoon11 жыл бұрын
yes it does. I am a professional nail technician and we never soak off anything. Acetone is not only bad for your nails but it is bad for your skin and while your sitting there with your fingers in it it soaks into your nail bed and the chemicals go straight into your body. State board for Arizona actually deemed it unsafe for clients and were not even supposed to do it in the salon.

I have a few questions. -The biggest one, is this technique just as strong as the acrylic nails I have now? I am concerned because I am a waitress and I am VERY hard on my nails. I also have very thin natural nails but of course I adore having long length nails. -Do you have to use the acrylic? I have been getting into gel and would love to use just gel. I got the Sina gel system and I like and don't like it. I can def do it on my toe nails no problem, but when it comes to using my less dominant hand to do my right hand.... well, thats when I run into problems. Also If i Just use the gel will it provide the strength I need? -Also I live in Florida and I am a chronic lifter. I have done my own dip acrylic nails in the past and I get so irritated. They turn out great but start to lift 3 days after. Thank you soooooo much!

you use a hand file or electric nail file. we use electric in the nail salon. It also helps ensure that the nail is in good condition when you take it off. allot of times clients will complain of nail damage after having enhancements done but more damage is done from the acetone eating away the natural nail as well as the enhancement.

@carlacollins331811 жыл бұрын
it doesn't have to be one or the other. The gel and acrylic powder work really well together and it last longer. Put the gel on, under the LED lamp until tacky, dip nail in acrylic powder, put gel on again and under LED lamp again until dry. I do this method 2 or 3 times and it last longer. I do this with tips.

I really love this technique and have linked this video to lots of nail buddies. I was wondering, could you do a similar strengthening mani using silk wraps instead of acrylic powder? IE; do a base of gelish, cure, then apply a silk wrap and cover with a second coat of base, cure and then top with gelish or similar type gel system topcoats and cure. So the silk wrap is taking the place of the acrylic powder. Not that I think this system needs improving, I'm just curious what different methods can be used to achieve a similar result :)

I have done this after watching this very awesome video, I am now about to do a refill and I have watched the refill clip but it still does not answer my question. I painted my nails with gelish after I did the acrygel, now I would like to do an infill an drepaint my nails, if I do the usual soak off to remove the gelish polish, will it also remove the acrygel also? Im guessing yes, if so, how do I remove just the gelish polish without removing the acrygel layer (this has made my nails sssooo strong)
@AnnasNailArtBeautyTravel10 жыл бұрын
To do a refill and just remove the gelish color polish all you have to do is file off just the top layer of the color that's it... and taper the free edge and make sure there is no color gel on the nail plate before you refill. If you want to change the gelish polish to a darker color you only need to file the growth area and just proceed with the color gel. However if you are going from a darker gelish polish to lighter than you have to file off the previous color entirely. If that makes sense.

OMG I want to thank you very much for this video. I have decided to quit getting my nails done and trying to grow out natural I went and got all of this stuff today and just did it only took me about an hour. A few year ago I tried doing my own nails and it would take about 4 or 5 hours as I was using the liquid and the powder and it would be so lumpy so took forever to buff to a smooth finish. This way I have very little buffing that needed to be done. I do have a question if I want to put a color polish on and stamp a design do I put a top coat on then polish and stamp and then another top coat on ? Thanks again for this tutorial.

Lydia Salazar she said to just soak it off at the end.. Like how you would with shellac.. She said you can soak your hands in acetone not just polish remover.. And I would just dip cotton balls in the acetone and wrap them with tin foil for 10-15 minutes. She isn't using a huge amount of acrylic so I could see how it would work.

Hi! Very informative video! I have a quick question...I did everything as you did in the video...I used Sensationail GEL with Beauty Secrets acrylic powder...I noticed when I did the first coat I wouldn't be able to wear it natural..you can definitely tell there is something on parts of my nail while other parts it looks okay...It's kind of a mixture of both. I wish I could show a picture!! I did a very thin coat of GEl. So...is it because the Acrylic powder I'm using isn't the best quality? It also doesn't look very clear. Help would be appreciated! You can also do this method over the top of a Jamberry nail application. It makes it last forever. So long that I have to purposefully remove it. Also, since you have the Jamberry nail shield directly on top of your natural nail you don't have to soak the gel/acrylic off. You just take tweezers and pull up the Jamberry nail shield and do your nail prep and you are ready for the next design.

Hey I love you videos, there very helpful! I learned about the A.S.P. Lightless gel resin from you. I was using that for a while, but when you grow your nails out that becomes a bit overwhelming to continually do. This I find is a great method I cant wait to try. The question i have for you is can you use gel polish with this method? Would you put it before the top coat of uv, or the polish portion is after sealing/hardening the nail/ what about glitter acrylic, would you be able to do something like that with this method of preserving your nails? Sorry if these are dumb questions, just thought i'd ask. Thanks again enjoy your day!
@AnnasNailArtBeautyTravel11 жыл бұрын
lovet210 Gel polish wont work its not strong enough to do with this method. You can apply the gel polish on top of the acrygel technique I showed you here with the gelish foundation and you can apply your gel polish coat at the end .. 1 gelish foundation 2 sprinkle acrylic powder and cure 3 gelish foundation coat again 4 sprinkle acrylic powder again and cure 5 now you can apply a coat or 2 of your gel polish if you wish and cure and the last step would be to remove the sticky dispersion layer. I hope this makes sense.

Also, another question: must all products be from the same company or we can use for example the foundation from one company and the topcoat from another?

Just wondering, You mention the regular hard gel saying you can do it that way as well but you won’t be able to soak off, so my question is, Since I would like to do this and just do refills BUT I want to change my polish color/designs (SOG polish), if I did this process with the hard gel/acrylic bonding powder THEN proceed as normal (SOG gelish foundation, color, top coat), could I remove the SOG layers with the soak off process while leaving the strengthen acrylgel layers so I could do a refill of the strengthen process and follow with new colors and designs. I want to avoid a complete re-do but have the ability to change color/designs.

I've been watching your channel for a while off and on. The tips u give for nail care are helpful. Since I've been watching you, I've started doing my own nails. Your nails are beautiful. I have 1 big problem.....my nails keeps splitting on the sides. It's really my thumb nails. Why does this keep happening? Am I filing wrong etc. Please help me with a nail regimen. Thank you so much.
@AnnasNailArtBeautyTravel10 жыл бұрын
cracks and splits are usually caused by constant bending of the particular nail but the root cause is dryness of the nails. Usually constant miniaturization and hydration of the nail can take care of that. Vitamin E oil is excellent for that so if you apply it to the nails regularly that should help tremendously. Another helpful tip I can give you is to change your base coat to a hydrating strengthener and many from the sally Hansen line are excellent ..There are others too but you just have to experiment and see which works best for your nails

Hi Anna! I've been watching ur gel nail tutorial vids over and over trying to decide on the best "strengthening" technique for my nails and I have another question for u. Which did u find gave more strength to nails, the gelish foundation+acrylic powder or gelish structure gel by itself w/o the acrylic powder?
@AnnasNailArtBeautyTravel11 жыл бұрын
Lovingdeenaturally Gelish foundation and acrylic powder although the structure gel works just as well with the powder so you can't go wrong with either. And as the nails get longer you don't need to use the powder for every refill.

I have a question that I haven't seen asked here. First of all I love this technique to use on myself. I've been looking for something I can do. My nails are extremely weak and break easily. My question is this: Can I apply nail tips and then use the rest of this method or does this product not adhere well to tips? I like to use tips and I cut them fairly short but it gives me a great start on my nails. Then I let them grow out, file and fill and within a short period of time they have grown to be just my nails. Thanks for the instruction and I look forward to your response!

Hi Anna soo Ive been doing this process for about 2months now & my nails have grown out lovely. Ive also tried this on my Aunt and Mother & within 3days after the acrygel pops right off their nails...any idea as to why?? also my overlay chips very easily and this doesnt last me a 1week without having to redo a nail... i have also found that my gel is becoming clumpy its there anyy way to fix this??

Am I able use use normal nail polish at all with these nails? If yes, would I apply the nail design and or polish after I do the top coat or before the top coat and after the 2nd layer of acrylic dip powder?

I just realized that starnail also makes an "acrygel" gel for this purpose. It's bogofree on premier nails

Hi. Thank you for your great tutorials. Just a question: can I use this method with any other ph bond, soak off clear gel and gel topcoat? or it must be this specific brand?

After I do this process can I use any nail polish on them and if so how would I remove the polish when I want to change the color? I have a lot of regular nail polish that I would like to us up.
