Ok am I the only one who's not a artist but still enjoy just hearing about it,I don't get every little single detail but I do grasp the basic stuff and I really like to just learn about ;3

Nope! I'm not an artist much either (try to be!) But I enjoy everything Mal puts out

So that's why the colour you use to base-coat a model is so important. Thanks!

Mal is an awesome teacher. I’m not an artist or know anything about paint and I found her explanations really easy to follow

I went to art school and now teach high school virtually because of Covid. MalMakes videos were the only thing out there I found that taught the color theory vocabulary and mixing the way I do. Demonstrations are professional, thorough and easy to follow.

Aw, thank you so much! As a former high school art teacher, I found I had to make all my own worksheets and materials because the ones I found were too basic or too complicated. I've really loved making videos like this! I basically did the same steps in my classroom with my students following along with worksheets that I made. It really made a difference in their art once I started doing old fashioned demos so they could actually SEE what it was I did or how my thought process went. I was taught to avoid demos while getting my teaching degree >_

Oh also forgot to mention, but thanks Mal for taking care of explaining in a way that even a person like me (who doesn't really know everything about painting) could understand. You don't just use the technical terms and just leave at that, you explain in a way that anyone can understand so thank you Mal :3 And thank you for all the beautiful pieces you make, you put you heart on them and I comes through your art,all the love and care you put on them can be felt,so thank you :3

It was certainly a pleasant surprise to see everything tie together like that. I’ve been using the color hue system in Photoshop for awhile and I kind of just learned it on my own through experimentation. It was nice to associate that with painting cause not only did I immediately understand with my previous experience...But it made a lightbulb moment of “oh that’s why the grays are over on the left! Etc, etc”

thank you for this. I have some trouble with color so this was helpful. and adding the digital art color picker was much appreciated to help translate that to digital art

It's so interesting seeing the lightest green next to the White value spoke shows a lot of blue in the green!! I would have thought it would have shown more of the yellow side. Colors are cool, man.

I’ve taken an interest in drawing/painting more so drawing and I VERY much respect and admire your skill with painting!! I can sorta understand the difficulty and joy painting can bring, you probably understand it better. I remember the brinstar painting you made and it was really really great!! I hope to one day be as great as you!!

As someone who works in the digital world, it's weird when you say the complement of green is red, instead of purple
