i was about .. like really really ready to give up in painting.. cause I can't really get it.. But I love to draw.. Okay, this is going to sound really full of myself and dumb but my friend sent me a picture of this painting last summer because she (your painting) looks so much like me! Even crazier that I'm a mixed Filipino girl. So when I saw this in my recommended videos I got really excited to actually see the painting being done and who the artist is. YA I FOUND THAT LIQUID GOLD LEAF LAST YEAR AND USED IT IN MY DRAWING BOOK AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, BUT I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND HAD IT IN ONE OF MY SMALL ART BAGS ON A TABLE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND I WHEN TO MOVE IT AND IT SPILLED ALL OVER THE DESK! I just wanted to say that I think your drawings are really unique, I like your style a lot. It also inspired me to try to make some drawings in a more cartoon kind of style. It really helped me to start the progress of developing my own personal style!

I really love your style! And your color palette is A+!!! Here's a trick I learned a little bit ago from another artist: Use a long, straight stick (like a stick of bamboo) and rest it at the top of your easel and hold it with your non dominant hand (or your lap, or between your knees). Then you can rest your brush hand on the stick to have a stable surface other than your canvas. I can't tell you how hard it is to paint without being able to rest your hand on your work. An oil painter's nightmare!

how does your acrylic paint on the mixing thingy not dry out all the time?

As long as its not a supper thin layer and your moving it around with the brush it takes a while to dry

Indecisive Ink theres also liquid to mix in your paint that will slow down the drying process

If you mix it with retarder it will stay wet. Another trick is to keep a spray bottle of water on hand and lightly spray once in a while. you can spray the canvas to but I wouldn't do it in the late stages of the painting.

the problem of using too much water to thin the paint is that it breaks up the properties of the acrylics. On the other hand, the retarders contain the the binding agents used on acrylics making a stronger paint

any fluid medium or a slow-dry blending medium if you don't want the paint to dry too quickly. It's ok to use some water to make acrylics flow, but only to soften the paint but if you want to use acrylics as in watercolors, you should definitely use the mediums instead of just water.
