It really blows me away how much planning and effort and time must go into these paintings, like, the visual effect of a veil tinting even the shadows a different hue and the lighter portion where the fabric has folded over itself and the fact that it looks so clean despite being hand-painted... it's just so amazing.

It takes a lot of practice at keeping your hand steady. I can't manage it for neurological reasons, but most people should be able to, with enough practice, learn to keep their hands steady enough to make clean lines. A huge part of it is just learning to draw from your elbow.
